Course Curriculum Overview :

I am pursing economics honours at hansraj college in Delhi University. In DU many call it mini maths honours, i completely agree with them because this course is more inclined towards mathematics and statistics part rather than micro and macro economics in first few semesters. If you love maths or good at it it's the best undergrad course which you can opt for otherwise it will be a nightmare. Mathematics is easy but it checks your conceptual knowledge which is same with statistics. I'd say if you want to study mathematics and core economic you could opt for this course as this course provide multiple opportunities ahead like- you can go for masters in economics, can become a data analyst, or even get a phd and get into research and become a lecturer. I somewhat love this course and i would recommend you all to opt for it Thankyou!!

Internships Opportunities :

There's a college club called internship cell in our college, almost every college have it. They approach different companies to visit their college and offer internships to students. Many top consulting firms like BCG, BAIN and LEK as well as BIG 4s visit our college and provides internships to students. Every college hostel internship fair where different companies and firms comes a single time and provide internships.

Placement Experience :

Placements at top DU colleges like SRCC, SSCBS, LSR, Hindu, Miranda, St. Stephen's and hansraj are pretty good. They offer various internship as well as placement opportunities. Generally companies start their visit to colleges in the month of nov-dec students become eligible in their 5th semester and many companies visits and offer various offers. Top tier companies like BCG, BAIN and LEK offer very limited no. Of offers. Highest package was about 23LPA in our college and average was 7LPA and median was somewhat 6LPA. generally students gets placed from BCOM(H) and ECONOMICS (H) and few no. Of students gets placed because other decides to go for masters. My plans after completing this degree is to study masters in economics from a reputed institute.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Well the fee structure of my college is somewhat at a higher level as comparison to other colleges of Delhi University. My course fees is exactly 25515 rupees inclusive of all other services and scholarships are also available based on categories and income level. You can avail reliance and tata scholarship which are available on their sites. Campus employment opportunities are decent in top DU colleges like SRCC, SSCBS, Hindu, Hansraj. Miranda and LSR. Many companies participate in campus placements and provides decent packages to students.

Campus Life :

If you want campus life DU colleges are not for you, their campuses are very small and students does not enjoy the campus life even the availability of seats in hostel is also very little. But some colleges provides good infrastructure to students which includes- full fledged library, Sports ground, cafes, auditorium and seminar halls inside the college.

Admission :

Honestly, it was very chaotic process of getting admission in Delhi University. Firstly filling up of a CUET application form and deciding different universities and courses. Then comes the most challenging cuet examination. It was quite easy but the nta system of taking examination was not very well organised because it was just their 2nd year. Finally after giving exams of 6 subjects then comes the result which was not very satisfactory but it was good enough to get into DU. Then I've filled the delhi University forms and my course and college priorities and selected the best of colleges. I didn't like the way nta conduct and organise exams because it was very confusing and sometimes it also clashed with other exams of nta only I hope I could a little bit

Placement Experience:

The Placement Cell of the college is very active. Students can avail themselves of the placement opportunities from the fifth semester. I have been selected as a content writer in the fifth semester. I was offered a 4.6 LPA in the esteemed company. More than 40 percent of students end up doing getting jobs. I have decided to earn some experience as a content writer and then apply for the MA journalism program.

Placement Experience:

For the courses like Architecture, Engineering, Law, Mass Communication, many big companies come for placements in Jamia. As my course is a Bachelors's subject under Arts, there aren't many placement opportunities. But I hope to pursue my Master in History after which I would try to get placed.

Placement Experience:

The placements for BA Program in particular are slightly lower as compared to other courses. Most students from the course opt for higher studies but the few who choose to sit for placements find it hard to land a job. Campus placements start in 5th semester and continue for the entire final year. A student is free to sit for as many companies as they like, as long as they meet the eligibility criteria like CGPA, course, etc. Most companies hire a maximum of 4 students owing to the small population of students at St. Stephen's. The highest package in 2021 was 18LPA and the average package is about 6 LPA-8 LPA.

Placement Experience:

Around 70% of the students get good campus placements, especially in the private sector. The average package for the students is 6,000,00 per annum. The highest package offered to the student varies between 25 lakhs to 35 lakhs. My plans are different as I want to pursue my higher education.

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is good. It has tie ups with reputed news channels. But in our course, the college does not provide internships, students have do it themselves and they have to prepare their own youtube channel for work.

Remarks:

The management is an equally hardworking and efficient team like the faculties. They maintain a good relationship with the students as well as with the teachers and are approachable for both the parties. Their functioning has ensured that the college runs smoothly in terms of presenting itself to others.
