- The campus is very beautiful. There are many trees and field and also lakes in campus
- There are separate buildings for separate engineering courses and you get many advantages of that.
Dislikes
- One thing is the campus is not too clean .
- There are many buildings which are getting old but University don't repair that.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Basically I get Civil Engineering in Wbjee councilling. This is a four year B.E course. Civil engineering is a core branch of engineering. So after doing this course you can expect a good job and a salary over 3.50 lakh . After that you can also give many government examination. In civil engineering branch the scope of government job is higher than any other branch . In this course you have to read about Structures , Road , Bridge etc . Basically we have to civilized our country after being Civil engineering. There are total 8 semester in this course. In every subject of semester you have to score over 40 marks to get pass in this examination. I want to say that if you attend every classes of Professors then the exam is quite easy and if you don't attend, the exam is very hard .
Internships Opportunities :
I am in 1st year so I don't know to much things about Internship. But I can definitely say you get free internship as well as paid internship. I think that companies don't offer Internship in Civil engineering. If a student is curious and want to do internship then he should reach many companies and give them internship application.
Placement Experience :
There is no question about the placement of Jadavpur University. Many companies of India and also outside India offer jobs in Jadavpurpur University. Some companies are Google , Amazon, Flipkart, TCS, PSU , Reliance, SBI etc. I am in first year so I don't know about how many jobs are offered. But I can surely say over 90% students are placed in these companies. The Highest package of JU is 1.8 cr and highest in Civil engineering is 25 LPA . Avarage package of civil engineering is 6.6 LPA and average package of CSE , IT , Etce is 20+LPA I will give Gate examination after getting B.E degree and want to do government job
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
So first of all you have to give 5000 rupees to lock your seat and then at the admission process you have to give only 700 rupees. And it is the total fees of 2 years. After 4th semester you have to pay around 5000 rupees for next two years . Also if you came form a poor family and get good rank in Wbjee , there is a system of TFW for you. In this you have to pay 0 rupees and you get education in free. Basically I came form a middle class family and my father do government job so I can't get scholarship scholarship. But I know that there is a scholarship where in every month you can get 5000 rupees . I am in 1st year so I don't know very deeply about job roles , responsibility etc.
Campus Life :
There is a tech fest held in Jadavpur University every year. It's name is Srijon . There are many events in this fest and you can participate in any event. You also get comedy nights, many brands came to perform and you get much more things to enjoy . Basically at the end of March this tech fest held . You can get any book , journal in JU library but one thing is the quantity of these things are much lesser. You have to create a library card first and then you get access of library. In Jadavpur University we think sports as a co-curricular subject. You can play any sports in Jadavpurpur . From tennis court to big cricket ground every thing is present here . Also JU gave you admission in the basis of sports quota. There are too many clubs are present in JU . Student can join these clubs and enjoy there life . You can reduce you educational stress and can upgrade your skills in these clubs. You can follow your passion in these clubs.
Admission :
First of all we have to give Wbjee exam to get admission in engineering college of West Bengal. Jadavpur University is the top college among them . There is not any age limit for the examination. wbjee.nic.in is the website where you get the application form of Wbjee . Application fee is 500 for general category ,400 for reserved. This exam held in so many cities of West Bengal. But outside West Bengal there is not any single examination centre. Every year after HS examination you can give this exam . And you have to score good marks to get Jadavpur University. The exam duration is 4 hour and there is two papers .You also get a tifin break after 2 hours . It is a omr based examination . The timming of the examination is 11:00 AM and it end at 4:30 PM . The exam is not difficult than jee advanced but the stander of questions is higher than jee main examination. I think admission process is perfect, there are 3 rounds and at last you also get a decentralised counseling in JU .
