It has been an amazing experience here at Cambridge

Course Curriculum Overview :

I am currently doing my 3rd year of Mechanical engineering in the college. One small drawback here is when it comes to practical knowledge or practical experimentation. Teachers here mainly focus only on the theoretical subjects while practicals is just limited to the labs, that is only as per the syllabus. No extra practical knowledge will be taught or shared unless there is an initiative from the students themselves if they want to learn something new and out of the box.

Internships Opportunities :

i haven't attended any internship. i prefer doing it but when I enquired about it i didn't hear anything about the stipend and all that. the college gives us ample opportunities to do internships but we don't find the time to do it because of the study holiday is taken by the placement dept. so we don't get time to take part in it.

Placement Experience :

the placement activities are just great it is reaching out to the needs of many students. they try to give placements to 150 students every year average package of 6 lakhs companies that visit are - HP, DELL, CAPGEMINI, HAPPY LOCATE, CISCo

College Events :

we have a fest for cultural and management needs. its named chiguru conducted for 2 days in the month of March. it is jointly oragnised by the student body and the faculty the respective authorities take care of all the facilities and give funding accordingly

Fee Structure And Facilities :

I have joined the college under the management quota paying an annual fee of 1.65 lakh. Fee structure in the college is again of 4 kinds. The students coming under CET will have to pay a fee of 75 thousand per annum, in which 50 thousand goes to the KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority Board), and the remaining 25 thousand will be for the college as tuition fees, lab and maintenance fees, etc. Also, for SNQ students (students falling under a special quota within CET), the fees per annum would be 25 thousand (which is for the college. These students have a free govt. seat and will not have to pay to the KEA board). Then comes the students under COMED-K who will pay an approx. fee of 1.5 lakh per annum. Finally, the students under management. The fee of these students vary based on various factors, but it is usually in the range of 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh per annum.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

i have not chosen for any such things so sorry i don't know much about it.

Hostel Facilities :

I am a day scholar and don't reside in the hostel. As far as my knowledge and the information i get from my hostel friends, the hostel rooms are usually 2-sharing or 3-sharing. Girls and boys have different hostel buildings. Each room has 2 or 3 separate beds, depending upon the number of students. Also, they are provided with cupboards. Washrooms are well maintained and kept hygenic. The hostel has a mess of its own for both boys and girls where all are provided food good food. Food taste is average but it is healthy & hygienic. Non-veg and special items, sweets, etc., are provided once a week,on Sundays, and also on various special occasions. The average fees for the hostel is 75-80 thousand.

Alumni/Alumna :

i know that our college has an alumni network but the way it's handled and the meeting and all that I am not sure about it.

Faculty :

The faculty is of utmost importance when it comes to any college and i personally feel, Cambridge has some of the most amazing teachers handling us. Each branch has a minimum of 18 - 20 teachers, all of them having atleast a master degree in their area of teaching and also good teaching experience. Also, there are atleast 3 - 4 PhD holders and doctorates per branch, with all the HODs of the branch being one among the PhD holders. Talking about Mechanical, the teachers here are amazing. They have very good knowledge about their subjects and deliver it to the students equally. Each and every single faculty , from the HOD, to the assistant professors and lab assistants, are very knowledgeable and deliver the subject in a wonderful manner. All the teachers are kind and very helpful. They treat us like their own friends, without any partiality among the students and help us out in all the activities, irrespective of the type , i.e., co-curricular or extra curricular. They are also available after college hours ,if needed, for the betterment of the students. The same implies to the faculty other branches in the college as well.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to get placements from their 6th to 7th semester as whatever basic is needed by them to a company is embedded into them. Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Cisco, and many other companies visit our college and make many offers. The highest package in my course was 47 L.P.A previous year and average is 7 to 8 L.P.A. Almost all students get placed in our branch almost every year. I just wanna do a start-up after completion of my course and getting my degree.
