Course Curriculum Overview
The course I chose is MBA- Food and agribusiness Management at SIBM, Nagpur. I find the course curriculum vast. I chose this course due to my deep passion in the management field specifically in food and agribusiness sector. The course curriculum is designed in such a way that it provides both theoretical as well as practical knowledge. We solve case studies on regular basis to focus more on the pratical approach of management. We also have live project in each semester that strengthen our skill and business acumen. The exams are conducted on semester basis consisting of mid terms and each term for each semster.
Internships Opportunities
Various companies visited our college for summer internships. The recruiters include Kisaan say, Amul, Tata- Trent, Vegrow, Mother dairy etc for MBA- FABM. these companies offered various role in different domain including sales and marketing, operations, Digital marketing etc. Few of them offered good stipen too. These companies offered internship at various locations in India. Other specialization students also got internship in volvo, zara, Grant Thornton Bharat etc.
Placement Experience
For college placement, there is a placement committee which work hard to bring good companies on campus. We have good number of recruiters that include DCM shreeram Bioseeds, Pepsico, Vegrow, Haldiram's etc for MBA- FABM students. The companies visit for both summer internships as well as final placements. Most of the companies make good number of offers too. Even for summer internship, almost everyone is placed from MBA-FABM in good companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of MBA- Fabm is Rs 525000 for first year. The hostel fee per annum is Rs 73250 and mess charges per anuum is Rs 60500. The fee structure for students coming from Nagpur is different. The given fee structure might differ for different year. The fees structure for other specializations of MBA is different from MBA- FABM. The college also provide financial assistance to the students who want to take that.
Campus Life
The campus life is very good at SIBM, Nagpur. The infrastructure is beautiful. We have a huge silent library consisting of various kinds of books that can engage students more and more. Other than this, we have clubs for each specialization and multiple committees. I am part of the Institute Social Responsibility (ISR) club. There are various events conducted by each club and committee. The institute focus on both academic and personality development growth of a student.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are clean and hygenic. There are various facilties provided in hostel room including RO water, everyday cleaning and pantry on each floor. The rooms are double sharing , triple sharing and four sharing. For mess menu, there is variety of food in breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. The food is good in taste and quality. The hostel and mess both is in college campus itself.
Admission
To gain admission in Symbiosis Institute of Business Management Nagpur, I took SNAP exam. The SNAP exam consist of 3 exams on three different dates. I filled SIBM, Nagpur for MBA( Food and agribusiness management). I cleared the SNAP EXAM. After clearing the exam, I received a mail from SIBM, Nagpur regarding WAT and GEPI exams. I chose my slot for WAT and GEPI. On the scheduled day, WAT exam was consisted of two questions, first one being the description of a topic and the second one being the comprehensive elaboration of an image. For GEPI, a group pf 10-15 students was made and a topic was given to discuss on that for PI, two panelists were there who interviewed me with questions from my previous background and current affairs. Overall, the interview process was smooth. After clearing interview, I got admission in SIBM, Nagpur.
Interview Experience
For the WAT (Written Ability test), there were two questions. The first question was to elaborate on the given statement and the second question was to explain an image. For the GD round, a topic related to the current affairs in the business field was given wherein a group of 10-15 students were discussing. For the PI round, the panel members asked a few questions regarding my previous academics, a few questions related to the agriculture sector and some logical questions. Overall, the interview experience was too good. I prepared for these rounds by focussing on agricultural news and current affairs.
