Remarks :

It was an excellent experience in my life which I'll always cherish through my whole life. Management was harsh in some cases where we went for a solution, but overall it was superb.

Entrance Preview :

I took WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam) and ranked 630 in Engineering. Jadavpur University (JU) is one of the best place to study in India. So I always preferred to study Engineering in JU, and lucky to get a chance to study Production Engineering there.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Production Engineering course is a mix of Mechanical Engineering and Management subjects. So I studied core engineering subjects like Machine design, IC engines along with management courses. I also did my final year project in Electro Chemical Micro Machining which was very new topic at that time. So there were many things to learn as well as explore.

Internships Opportunities :

I have also done my Master of Engineering from JU. I was selected after ranking in GATE exam. I used to get stipend of Rs 5000 during the period of 2003 -2005.

Placement Experience :

JU has very good placement rates and job oppertunity. All major IT companies like IBM, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro visits every year and take more than 50% of the students with a starting package of min 4 lac pa. Also other core departmental companies visits here.

College Events :

Ju is famous for the 'Fest'. There were 3 Fests each year. One for Arts faculty, one for Science facultyand the biggest one for Engineering faculty. Many renowned singers and bands come for the Fests along with performance by the students. Solo and group Music performance, Drama, Quiz, Choreography, debate is performed. The biggest event is on the last day of the Fest is OAT night. It happens at the Open Air Theater (OAT). Renowned bands from all over India and Bangladesh performs there.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I have not availed any loan or scholarship, but JU has scholarship facility for needy but meritorious students. They were admitted free of charge and hostel charge was 50% of the amount for those students.

Campus Life :

Ju is famous for its cricket and football tournaments. It was a huge soprts event every year. Also in hostel every year functions were performed. Solo and group Music performance, Drama, Quiz, Debate, Choreography is performed along with cricket, football, badminton, chess, carrom competitions.

Alumni/Alumna :

Every department used to have a reunion where alumni used to gather and share their experience. It was nice experience to hear from them about the life after college days.

Exam Structure :

JU exam structure is based on 30/100 marks from class tests and 70/100 marks out of the Semester exam. Also lab of 100 marks for each subject. For each subject there were 2 class tests and average if it was the marks out of 30. Few subjects with labs were

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

Overall only one thing is important is about hardwork with smart work . You have to work on your skills rest college is there to help you to show the path from your college to carrier .

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

Remarks:

College was good in terms of studies and many more. But now it fails in giving placement. Most of the students are still unemployed. Only 30% of the students are placed from college. Others have to find there own jobs.

One of the good colleges.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
