Remarks :
College management was good since it was run by the University. But there is lot of bad politics running.
Entrance Preview :
TANSAT, I quallified with good grades in the Tamilnadu M.tech entrance. I opted for this course because, I am a Remote Sensing professional and this college was a University run institution.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum was really good. We study mostly Remote Sensing and GIS subjects like, GIS, Principles of RS, Cartography, Applications of GIS, Application of RS and GIS in Urban, Forestry etc. The labs were GIS, Image Processing and Photogrammetry.
Internships Opportunities :
Not even a single company came for placement or Internship to my college. But I did my Mtech project in RRS-South, ISRO Bangalore, which was really a nice experience. The good thing was that the faculty and department allows students to go out and do project. Few people went even to NRSC for their Project.
Placement Experience :
There was no placements for our Course. We all went for off campus placements. The major employment after this course was in the colleges as teaching faculties. Also, lot of organaisations and government agencies are looking for Remote Sensing professionals. So definitely there is a chance for good employment.
College Events :
Cultural and Sports event are conducted regularly on all years. They used to de conducted on rented places or Govt grounds. Other than that, there used to be lot of technical fests and conferences happening in the college. I was part of two programes. One was and outreach program conducted by IIRS and another one a Workshop on Android conducted by IIT Bombay.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fees are less, 14000 per semester since the college was not a private institution. The fees used to vary for different programes. For BE students the fees was very less and only they remited govt fees.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college has a tie up with Indian Bank. Those who need education loan can have it by their own or can avail the facility through Indian Bank.
Campus Life :
There was not much campus life in the earlier days since the university was run on a rented building. But the campus life improved after shifting to own building. There used to be debates, competitions on GIS and other software's happening very frequently.
Hostel Facilities :
The college doesn't have a hostal of its own. So private owned two three hostels are run by the college. But that facility was not provided to PG male students. For female students, they can have hostals. Otherwise you can get a room for around 3000 and h
Alumni/Alumna :
The college doesn't have a huge alumni network, since it is comparatively a newer institution. But I assure that there are lot of people moved out of this institution in strategic positions which I personally has experienced outside.
Exam Structure :
Exams and Labs are conducted periodically on correct time without any delay. Depending on the type of work or lab, it used to be hectic sometimes and chilled out most of the time.
Faculty :
Faculties are mostly good and experienced persons. Initially during the start of the course, there was shortage of Staffs and in the first semester there was no one to teach few subjects. At that time the college was run on a Shopping Complex. But after t
