Remarks :

I would rate my college as a good college with average infrastructure but the bonding between junior and senior is something not to be found in any other college.

Entrance Preview :

After the ranklist of WBJEE 2016 was out I got a chance in the department of electronics and communication department of jalpaiguri government engineering college through e-counselling.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I didnt have any knowledge about the syllabus of any course so I accepted the department I got through counselling. But after studying for a year in this college I gained interest for the course and its content.

Internships Opportunities :

We all are interested to get internship to increase and prove our practical knowledge. The authority is quite helpful in providing us the NOC's and we achieve internships through personal mail to concerned professors or companies.

Placement Experience :

The placement cell of JGEC provides job to atleast 55% of students every year with mass recruitment in software companies like TCS, CTS and ericsson. Other companies like coca cola, SPCL, tech mahindra also visits our campus.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

We have to pay fees after every six month. The college fees is 8,500 for ECE and CSE. For IT it is 14,000 and for civil, electrical and mechanical it is 5,500 only. The hostel fees every semester is rupees 12,000.

Faculty :

The faculty for our department is good since every topic is cleared out with suitable examples and the professors are friendly enough. They are not even so much strict like other department so we can study without the pressure of attendance.

Hardship ends someday after Placements.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placement after the 6th semester onwards.A total of 98 companies visited our college out of which they offered 120 offers and 86 students applied for placements out of which 78 are selected in the CSE branch. The selection was 90 percent. Average pay was 4-5LPA and the highest was 25LPA CTC in India. After getting my degree i planned for higher studies and placement in a MNC.

Remarks:

Nothing is perfect in the whole universe. There were loopholes in the college administration and there were a few, not-so-good guys, who did mistreat with students but thanks to the higher authorities, those were never a permanent issue.
