Remarks :

Overall the college is good educational institution. There is still a lot to develop. The faculties and all other staff members are working very hard to make this college even better . The students also show a lot of support in the college development.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is very good with proportional number of theory and practical papers. There are eight semesters in total, each semester having six theory paper and four to five practical papers. The practical papers are related to the theory papers so we get a good knowledge about theory and practical of the subjects . The exam papers are set by the college faculties and are reviewed by the University before the exam . Scoring in the exam takes little hard work .

Placement Experience :

There is a specific training and placement cell in our college with a permanent training and placement officer who guide us at every step . There is regular grooming sessing for placent purpose.Companies visit regularly for palcement.

College Events :

There is lots of events organised in our college . The national youth parliament session is organised in our college every year in which students actively takes part.There is sports day techfest and also cultural fest organised in our college every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees structure is a little more than the rest of the government engineering colleges but it is well below the fees structures of the private engineering colleges. Due to this a large number of students are able to graduate form this college without opting for any loan .

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The college helps the students to get loan for any bank if they want to avail . The also provide full or half freeship on the tuition fee for meritorious students . Students can apply for this freeship after their first semester result and based on their result they might get a full or half freeship on the tuition fees.

Campus Life :

There are well equipped labs .Every department has their own labs for the various subjects.The equipments in the labs are all new and we'll maintained. Labs assistant takes good care of the lab and assist student during the practical classes .

Hostel Facilities :

Yes I have opted for hostel in my college . Staying the hostel makes the college life more interesting. There is a lot of facilities in a very affordable price. The first year boys have totally different hostel a littyfar from the college campus .The hostel room a well spaced.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

There is a strong alumni i our college . Teachers have worked hard to build this alumni network which is a great help for the current students . The seniors are quite supportive . The seniors help their juniors a lot achieve great things .

Admission :

I appeared for the WBJEE exam and based on my WBJEE rank I got selected for this college through online counciling process organised by the WBJEE board. The counseling process had three rounds . Before the first round we get chose any number of college and branch and arrange them according to our preference. After each round we are given a specific branch in a specific college according to our rank and our preference of our choices. Then we can either make our given allotment our final choice or we can opt for a better choice in the next round . I got alloted this college in my second round of counseling and I made it my final choice .We were give a date on which we have to report to our college for the final admission.

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

Overall only one thing is important is about hardwork with smart work . You have to work on your skills rest college is there to help you to show the path from your college to carrier .

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
