Remarks :

The college life at hitk is really good and you get a lot of exposure specially if you are from a small town. The college does needs to improve its placement cell though. The labs also require more equipment so each students opportunity to use them.

Entrance Preview :

I got 4956 rank in wbJEE and took admission in hitk as, I wanted to pursue mechanical engineering which was the Best option for me at my rank.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The college curriculum is good. In first year as a mechanical engineer, I find the subjects really intrested. Specially the workshop curriculum is very interesting.

Internships Opportunities :

I being a fresher have no idea about this. However WBUT does arranges for internship as told by the Seniors. For mechanical you can apply in a workshop or car manufacturers.

Placement Experience :

As usual TCS is the largest employer. This year alone TCS took 500 + students at package of 3. 33 lakhs. some students are offered 4 5 lakhs.

College Events :

Although I hav not attended these. Daksh and Eclesia are big things in hitk. Daksh is the technical fest and Eclesia is the cultural fest. These both are huge. Like last year we had mohit chauhan.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The semester fees is about 40 thousand. Which is a lot less than those of bangalore colleges which take almost twice or maybe thrice as that of SRM AND VIT.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

People with low income do get scholarship. there is some provision for meritorious students also. Loan facility is available

Campus Life :

The campus life is awesome. Their are no restricions in the campus. You can sit anywhere and do mostly everything. There is no sex barrier. Their are ample of Clubs for everyone's intrest.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel food is as usual horrible. I stay outside the hostel I'm another hostel which has horrible food.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

The Seniors here are really supportive be it you fall into the right company. The Seniors are really supportive and they got your back. The rules against ragging are really strict here.

Exam Structure :

We follow semester system like any other college. Each semester has 2 internals which hav a weightage of 7. 5 marks each.

Faculty :

Most of the faculty are good. Some teachers however lack the experience. How's are really efficient in their work. However you are free to take extra tym from any teacher as you wish.

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

From seventh semester the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies visited are like TCS, Cognizant, infosys, mindtree and many others. The avg pkg is 6 lpa and highest is 12 lpa. 90 percent students gets placed.

Overall only one thing is important is about hardwork with smart work . You have to work on your skills rest college is there to help you to show the path from your college to carrier .

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

Remarks:

College was good in terms of studies and many more. But now it fails in giving placement. Most of the students are still unemployed. Only 30% of the students are placed from college. Others have to find there own jobs.

One of the good colleges.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
