- I really liked the hostel life of VIT, the people I met along this journey, the campus life and the sports facility, mess food and going to the classes then hanging out with my friends around the campus also i liked going on outing with my friends.
Dislikes
- I really dislike the amount of unnecessary rules like the intime of hostel and the need of ID card when we go out of hostel, but still these rules have definitely helped me become more disciplined and better my ability to do work even if dislike it.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I had Interest in Computer Programming since I was a teenager and this interest is what led me to choose this course. The student ratio is pretty decent of 3:1 The faculties are well qualified having phd's from IIT/NIT's, some faculties used to teach through PPT's or by hand in a black board We had our term exams every month, the dificulty level was medium level, the questions were easier than what they ask in JEE, with about 1-2 week preparation, it was easy to score atleast a 8 gpa or even 9 gpa.
Internships Opportunities :
Many companies come to the college with an internship offer of 3 months to 6 months, then depending on your performance they can convert it to a full time offer. Most companies offer stipend of 40000 Rs per month.
Placement Experience :
Companies start coming to the college in 3rd year either with a full time job or an internship offer. The number of companies that visited in 2023 was 904 with an average package of 9.23 lpa and 14000 students we placed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
VIT has a category based system, which decides your annual fees, after we give our VITEEE we get a rank, this rank is put through a system which then is categorised. I'm still studying in the college so I'm not eligible to answer the question on Job and stipend
Campus Life :
The campus life is pretty nice, we have multiple outdoor badminton courts and an indoor badminton court as well, a basketball court, a ground to play cricket or football, as well as an AC Gym and Non AC gyms. We have a Physical department from where we can borrow equipment for sports There are many places in the campus to hangout with your friends. We have a library which is very beautiful and a nice place to study, we can issue books to take it to our homes/hostel rooms. There are many social groups or clubs which are run by students, they organise public events for other students to join be it skit, movie, a cultural event they have it all.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel rooms are pretty nice they give a good hostel feel, you can rent an AC or a NON AC room, Which are 1/2/3/4/6 sharing rooms, The hostel has common washrooms which are clean, they are cleaned 2 times a day. To register for hostel we can do both online process or visit the hostel office in campus and fill in the details for the room we want and submit our hostel affidavit. I haven't rented a PG room but my friends have, which are very to college about 2-3 kms or even 8 kms far.
Admission :
Getting into VIT Chennai was like joining a friendly club. Filling out the form in October was Easy without any confusion. Taking the VITEEE test in April was tricky, but it was organized and fair. Then in May we had to choose our courses and campuses online. With my score I got CSE Core in VIT Chennai. The eligiblity criteria of getting admission was 60% in PCM in 12th Boards for General Category and 55% in PCM in 12th Boards for SC/ST category. The admission process was smooth and exciting.
