Not a good experience

Remarks :

Only thing was that the college was near my college. Other things were just average. From studies to canteen food, infrastructure, faculty, all were just average. Not a very good experience.

Entrance Preview :

I took science after 10th and after HSC, gave the MHT-CET exam to join the B.E course. My score was 101/200 and based on my marks and under the minority quota I got admission in this college. There were no interview taken for the admission. It was based on merit only and the availability of seats in the choice of your branch. I selected the course since it had some good scope in future.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum was a bit outdated. Old technology like Bluetooth, basics of WiFi were taught to us during the final year of our course. Practical learning was okay. It was just based on the curriculum provided by MU. There were elective options during the final year of the course.

Internships Opportunities :

The college didn't provide any internships. Even you had a chance to take an internship yourself, there wasn't much support by the faculties as well. They were like don't bunk lectures for a internship. Not expected from engineering professors such.

Placement Experience :

The placement was bad. Totally beyond expectations. No companies came up for my branch, a core EXTC company wasn't even there. Most of the companies which turned up were IT companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra etc. Average package was around 2.5 lacs. Small small companies on sales and marketing came to hire engineering graduates. Completely bad.

College Events :

The event was okay. It was some 2-3 day event. Ambrosia was the festival name. It consisted of some random cultural competitions, performance by students of other colleges, Dj night was also there. It wasn't much big. Mostly the college crowd was only there.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee was not quite affordable for everyone. It was around 90k per year. Since it was a 4 year course, the total fees was around 3.5 lacs.

Fees and Financial Aid :

We got scholarship under the minority quota by the state government. It was around 25k a year as scholarship. This was a bit good for the middle class students like us.

Campus Life :

There weren't much extra curricular activities. Only few workshops, some seminars by industry people etc were there. There wasn't anything which could let me explore my talents. Whatever we tried to do we had to compromise our attendance, which was later troublesome during our submission.

Hostel Facilities :

I wasn't staying in the hostel. Few friends stayed, it was good, quite costly around 50k a year. Food was okay.

Alumni/Alumna :

We hadn't anything such called as alumni network. There was nothing provided to us by our college. Such things never existed.

Exam Structure :

We had 2 unit tests each semester. Then by the end of each semester we had the practical exam, viva and the final semester. I was quite good at the start, and very hectic at the end with the submission and vivas. A mixed culture in short.

Faculty :

The faculty were quite experienced and qualified. Most of the teachers were M.E graduate. They had a good amount of experience. However the quality of teaching wasn't up to the mark. Quite boring and just the blunt way of teaching. They weren't much interactive with the students. The standard of teaching was below average.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario at VIIT Pune is impressive, with students becoming eligible for placements from seventh semester. Renowned companies such as TCS, Accenture, Capgemini and L&T Infotech regularly visit campus, offering numerous jobs opportunities. The highest package offered last year was 44 lpa with average package of 7.5 lpa. The profile offered range from software development and data analysis to consultancy and core engineering roles. Around 85% students secure placements. My plans is to use my skills to become a software developer in future.
