My College

Dislikes

  • The faculties except maths have a great scope of improvement.
  • There should be a little more encouragment from the dean about the cultural activities ..

Course Curriculum Overview :

The faculty in EEE department, we can say in first year physics faculty was just really bad almost like the faculty just opened a presentation and started reading it and not explaining anything. Also even when someone asked something the faculty explained it but seemed he himself didn't know the concept exactly. In first year maths faculty was really good and other faculties were also fine and supportive. In my 2nd year also maths is exceptionally good but other faculties just don't know how to teach.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

In my 2 years of college, there hasn't been a significant fees hike and maybe just around 5- 6 thousand extra.MAIT is a very affordable college, even affordable than most engineering colleges but it comes down to ROI(return of investment) and for that I will say the college is really good, the feel of college is there but main problem is the crowd.Mostly the crowd in here are the rich kids who could not take admission anywhere so just paid some money and got here.If u find some good people who are ambitious ,please stick with them and don't waste your college life just going with the flow ,try something new and don't try to compete with these so called rich kids cause in the end if u just improve yourself a little by getting some internships ,u will have all the attention.About the internships, college provides us with a industrial visit in 3rd year which is of no use according to me but if u want to do software, just start getting in competitions and getting some certificates for your cv

Campus Life :

Techsurge and mridang are the two fests in mait. The fests are ok .The fest for maims is even better, last year Ashish solanki came here. For the books u get a library card from which u can issue books. All course books are there in the library. For sports Mait isn't really popular but but there is a basketball, football, volleyball and a chess team.

Admission :

I took admission through jee mains exam.My percentile was about 80 and rank was 165172 and I got the seat in EEE Department. The application form for jee mains is present on the nta website nta.ac.in and all other updates on the jee mains website. After the results I registered at the ipu website for college that gives us 3 rounds for alloting the college and branch.at first I got mechanical engineering in first round but in last round I got electronics and electrical engineering. Also I had delhi quota .If u don't have delhi quota there is no problem, first just take whatever branch u r getting for example my friend had rank 60k and was also in EEE as he was from Rajasthan but in the final round that is the spot round delhi quota doesn't apply so he got IT branch.Spot round in my college MAIT started after the first week we took classes. You can check for this regularly in the classes.

Placement Experience:

After the end of third year placement season starts that is an the end of 6th semester. During the summer break companies start coming for placement and the placement drive takes place till March that is 8th semester end. A lot of companies visit DTU. The numbers can go as high as 300. The average package is also very good

Placement Experience:

At IIITD students become eligible for internships after 2nd year. First sem students also get a chance to get internship from UNIQLO. The company takes some students from first sem and offer them stipends and a trip to tokyo. The percentage of placements is good at IIITD but it went down during recession. The highest package offered is 55lpa domestic and 120lpa overseas and the avg package is 20-25 lpa. Approx 70% students got placed in year 2024

Placement Experience:

5th semester students are eligible for internships and 7th semester students are eligible for placements( full time offers) Many bigtech companies like Google, Microsoft, Uber, Salesforce, Intuit etc visit our campus and hiring rate is not that bad, depends upon the company's budget and students' calibre. Average package of our college varies between 13 lakhs to 19 lakhs and most of the companies come for software developer roles. Didn't planned yet

Remarks:

* the comparison of pros and cons are based on all the colleges under GGSIPU and not IIT, or NITPros:Transportation: college is well connected and within metro, bus routes, the choice is yours.Good campus: In GGSIPU campus of ADGITM is one of the best.Faculty: Faculty are good and always there for your helpCollege Societies: From sports to arts and culture to entrepreneurship college has societies, if you want to join and explore then society are one of the best place to explore as they are quite active.Infrastructure: the college has good infrastructure considering other college of GGSIPU.Cons:Placement for other branch than CS and IT are very rare if you want to work in core sectors. The education is based on to get marks in the end sem and not to learn and grow, which is the sad part.Investment in societies by college is negligible, student manages most of the events by themselves that is one of the reason most of the societies underperform than their calibre. If you are getting MAIT or GB pant go for that as the education is quite same but there you can get more placement opportunity in the core sector. and more space to grow.My time admission was based on GGSIPU CET but now it is based on JEE Main score as GGSIPU comes under JEE Main.

Admission:

Yes there was a written test and the admission is purely on the base of written test, and rank achieved in that written test. Written test is JEE main and it is based on physics, maths and chemistry of 12th standard.
