GECG overall experience

Course Curriculum Overview :

I have taken an information technology course because it's the most valuable course and easy to get a job course right now. But otherwise, also information technology has a lot of things still to explore so in the future if anyone wants to go into research also there is a space available for that. The faculties of GECG are good and supportive. All are qualified with a master's degree or either cleared upsc or gpsc exams. Each and every faculty in computer/IT at GECG has knowledge about the ongoing trends in the IT industry and new updates or things happening and they are always welcome to the speakers who come for seminars to inform the students about the current happening things.

Placement Experience :

I am not aware of the college placement. The placement cell starts after 6 semester is over. Many students apply for on-campus but many also apply via LinkedIn. There are a lot of companies that come to GECG but actually, I am not aware of this whole placement thing only.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

As GECG is a government college for girls it is 730 and for boys, it is around 1400 (not so sure) for every Semester. And books are also not costly. There are a lot of scholarships that can be applied like digital gujrat, mysy, food bill scholarship, nse(for minorities), and many more are supported by the college.

Campus Life :

Campus infrastructure is good like we can say average also. Facility of wifi is available and library is a good place for people leaving in hostel to study for exam. Library has a large number of books available but they all are refrence books so if anyone wants to get in-depth knowledge then they can definitely try and check it out. After COVID, the college is still settling so any type of fest is not arranged but yeah there was a sports week arrangement last year (2022). There is a cricket and football team college which goes for competition. Further, there are tech-related clubs like Ide gdsc that organizes tech-related seminar and workshops. Interested students can be a part of the team by becoming volunteers or the core team member. There is an e-cell club which is for entrepreneur and start-up ideas enthusiasts.

Hostel Facilities :

GECG hostel is good and very much affordable. It is next to the college so transport costs will be reduced to null. The only thing is that it does not provide food facilities in the hostel so either we can make our food on induction in the hostel only or arrange it from outside like tiffin services.

Admission :

It was according to the rounds taken by ACPC. Rank was generated(60% GUJCET and 40% board marks) for every appearing student by ACPC only. A total 4 rounds were there first was mock and the rest of the 3 rounds. We have to first add the list of all the colleges we are interested in going to and then accordingly to the rank the college in which we are eligible has been released after completion of every round. And yes there are benefits for the reserved seats for students who belong to EWS and OBC, etc.

Placement Experience:

As of last year, most of the students who applied for campus placement got placed but with an average ctc of rs 5 lakh/annum. The companies visited include Adani Port, Adani gas, Torrent Power, and other companies. The highest package was rs 15 lakh. Generally, most students from here prepare for entrances like a gate, toefl, cat, etc for admission in masters.

Not know much about placement but from what I have heard it is average. You have to decide beforehand whether you want to go for placement or a master's after that college provides a special course that is delivered by CD Cell CD stands for career development.
