  • Very small campus. There's hardly any space to hangout
  • Fees is very expensive and sometimes you might not be able to afford such high fees

Course Curriculum Overview :

Like any other law student, I aspired to study in the top NLUs. But clat was not very nice for me and I was allocated a tier 3 NLU. On consulting with my mentors, I realized that Symbiosis is not only one of the best PVT colleges but also better than a lot of tier 2 NLUs. So, I chose to study at SLS Pune. The student-teacher ratio is 55:1. The faculty is mostly all law graduates with Ph.D. and masters and come from good colleges themselves. The teaching method is very interactive and learning-oriented. Internals are marked on the basis of assignments instead of a written exam usually and you're given ample time to complete each internal. There's an end sem or external exam usually in the month of December and June.

Internships Opportunities :

There are different types of internships for different sems. In the first year, you usually intern with NGOs or district courts where you are taught to draft documents and research. Usually, they are unpaid internships.

Placement Experience :

There is no zero day at the college but big firms and companies do come to hire people. Packages are decent and average between 12-14 lacs per annum. The Highest package this year was 21 lacs. People usually either go for their masters after their course or prepare for other exams like judiciary or upsc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There's a fee hike of 10% every year and the cost of study might accrue to nearly 7 lacs per annum. You can always go for education loans. There are scholarships handed out to the topper of each semester. Usually, the internships that you get are unpaid.

Campus Life :

There's an event called Symphoria organized for all first-years to break the Ice for them. It's a super fun-filled week where you compete class-wise in various events like dance, music, Vada pav eating competition, and whatnot. Then there is Symbiosis's annual fest called Symbhav where famous signers are called and it's a crazy two-day event. This usually happens in the month of March. The sports and extracurricular activities are very good. The college takes part in various state and national level competitions all round year. Classrooms are big and airy and have smart boards. There's no AC.

Admission :

You need to appear for the SLAT exams. For that registration forms are usually out 2 months prior to the exam. you can find them on SL's official portals. There is separate fees for the different campuses you choose and then the different courses you choose. So since I chose SLS Pune BA and BBA LLB, I had to pay 1950+1000+1000 respectively. There is a certain reservation for army kids and PWDs. SLAT is compulsory to get admission to any SLS campus. Even through management quota( where you double fees) you have to sit for SLAT.

Interview Experience :

There was a written aptitude test (WAT) where you're given a topic of current affairs or a general topic of importance and you're supposed to write a 400-word essay within 30 mins. The mode is online. My topic was whether should there be legislation regarding climate change precautions. Followed by this you have a personal interview round where you are supposed to submit your CV and certificates. The panelists can ask you general questions about the law you have studied for CLAT. And other things from your CV. They're super friendly and understanding. This was also online for me.

Other Applied Colleges

Nirma University - [NU] | Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Law [BALLB] {Hons.}

Symbiosis's faculty and teaching experience always better than nirma

From 4 year the students used to get the PPO and 5 year is mostly eligible to get the highly paid placement. Placement are offered by Trilegal, Shardul and Amarchand and many more. There is placement cordination committee that help to get the placement. On average 90 percentage of placement happens and it depend upon the CGPA of students. My plan after getting degree is about the litigation, as I found litigation as my core interest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Law for me was a very interesting experience. I always wanted to study law. It interests me a lot. A student gets to know about various laws available for the citizens and it is very interesting to know about them. The teaching method is also very interactive which encourages students to participate more. Exams are held at the end of the semester. One can easily score a good percentage with daily studies and by attending leactures regularly.
