Maharaja surajmal institute of technology (The honest review)

Dislikes

  • The campus is very small and has a dreadful ground with no sport amenities available by the college.
  • Internship opportunities are very low and bad you have to search for internship yourself otherwise you won't get one

Course Curriculum Overview :

My first choice was computer science and my second was information technology. I chose IT because as I believe the IT sector is flourishing in this era and has more opportunities than most of the core sectors in our country. 1 teacher teaches a class of 60 in theory classes and in labs we then divided into 2 groups of 30. Most of the faculty members have a doctorate(PhD) or are applying for theirs. The teaching method is like any other college OLD, of you, pay attention in classes you might understand somethings but the majority of the study has to be done to score well. The mid-term and the end terms are fairly easy and if you studied 1 week or more before the exams it's like a walk in a park.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is like any other college you have to pay the total fees in 4 installments in 4 years. There is financial assistance available for Ews categories in our college and I would say the return on investment is pretty good. Internship opportunities are poor but good companies do come for placement in our college.

Campus Life :

The annual fest is conducted by the main campus for all the campuses once in a year in February and the tech fest in our college when the sem ends that is April. The campus life is dreadful there is nothing to do except study. Books are provided by the book bank of our college and have to be returned after an year. The classroom is the same old school with benches and 4 fans and a projector (which no one uses). There is only one ground on which you can play any kind of sport and it is mostly waterlogged due to poor maintenance. Our college does have many clubs which organise many activities in a fest like IEEE msit, gdsc etc. They all have their own websites too.

Admission :

I took Jee mains and advanced exams only. I participated in ipu counselling and entered my preferences for college and courses. I got into the college on the basis of my jee mains rank. One must take jee mains or ipu cet to be eligible to take part in ipu counselling. The forms are available on time on ipu's exams website. There is a reservation available for certain backward classes. The admission process is smooth it's just if you want a refund after shifting colleges you will have to run for it.

Placement Experience:

At IIITD students become eligible for internships after 2nd year. First sem students also get a chance to get internship from UNIQLO. The company takes some students from first sem and offer them stipends and a trip to tokyo. The percentage of placements is good at IIITD but it went down during recession. The highest package offered is 55lpa domestic and 120lpa overseas and the avg package is 20-25 lpa. Approx 70% students got placed in year 2024

Placement Experience:

5th semester students are eligible for internships and 7th semester students are eligible for placements( full time offers) Many bigtech companies like Google, Microsoft, Uber, Salesforce, Intuit etc visit our campus and hiring rate is not that bad, depends upon the company's budget and students' calibre. Average package of our college varies between 13 lakhs to 19 lakhs and most of the companies come for software developer roles. Didn't planned yet
