My experience at Ram Lal Anand College

Course Curriculum Overview :

Being highly interested in science, microbiology seemed very fascinating to me. I specifically choose this course because I liked biology from the very beginning. In Ram Lal Anand College, we had a plus point that our principal sir also belonged to the microbiology department and taught us for 2 semesters. His teaching skills are mind-blowing and he has always been a source of motivation for all. The faculty of microbiology consists of 7 professors including the principal sir and 4 lab staff. The student ratio in my class was a bit high, making the strength of 54 students. The standard of examination was high and it required efforts to score well.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Being a govt. college, the fees of the University of Delhi is quite low and affordable, For microbiology, it was 15000 - 16000 per year. Other courses also were of the same range. But fees for computer science courses were 30000 per year.

Campus Life :

The campus wasn't big enough but the social life of Ram Lal Anand College was good enough with ton lots of clubs. I myself was a part of the National Service Scheme and Satva. The organization of the fest was also mind-blowing in RLA. The library area was wide and silent but copies of books were a bit fewer. The overall library was above average including the comfort in library.

Admission :

At my time there was no entrance. Admission was on the basis of the percentage obtained in class XII. Eligibility criterion- PCB marks in XII for microbiology. The application forms were available on the official website of the University of Delhi. Since I belong to the general category, I got admission in the 2nd cutoff i.e. 91%, after which the cut-off list for the general was closed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always excelled in mathematics in school. So, i decided to pursue it for higher studies. You should only choose this course if you want to make a career in mathematics field for example if you want to become a mathematics professor, go into research, become a data scientist or clear exams like JAM, NET, JRF. They do teach softwares like R which is very important but they should include more technologies and coding languages into the course as well. Special mention: if you want to pursue a career in data science i wouldn't recommend this course. I think a computer major would be more helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was always interested in studying chemistry since school so I opted for this course. The course is well built and designed in order to build your interest in this field. The college provides enough industrial visits to encourage you in the same field and organises sufficient conferences regarding the same. There are no such improvements required in the faculty except a few. Exams used to happen semester wise after every 5 months. We only used to prepare for these, only a few teachers asked us to solve an assignment and nothing much.

Last semester students are eligible for the campus placements. Although this college offers placement but not a surety for the same. The average package is 5 lacs andthe highest is 23 lacs as of till now. After graduation you may give the entrance exams to get admission for the masters degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In my opinion my course syllabus is good and better then some of the other courses. This course helps and prepares students for the real world application as it is a practical course and have all the industrial related topics in it. In my opinion the college should offer more industrial vists for the students. The difficulty level of exams is Average.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I gave Entrance and I qualified and I have no option other than this course. Our Faculty is a mixture, as we have to study Physics Chemistry and Mathematics so we have three 3 departments. Student teacher ratio is 10:1. All teachers are PhD Professor. they wrote many books also, their teaching is according to UGC syllabus. they provide notes. There is Semester exam after 6 months and one test in one month of each subject. You have to prepare your notes in a very well way to obtain good marks.
