Course Curriculum Overview :

I want to transition from a Digital Marketer to a Brand Manager and handle the overall marketing activities of a brand and help scale it. In order to do that I have to gain knowledge of consumer behaviour, brand management, traditional marketing methods, product pricing and more. Thus MBA was the right fit for me. There are about 90 students in a class who are taught by a teacher Most of the faculties are PHDs from reputed institutes such as IITs and other IIMs The term exams are conducted in a timely and are not too difficult to pass if one does regular self-study and preparation for it.

Internships Opportunities :

Prominent companies arriving on campus for internships were Optum, ICICI, Adani Many Live projects were provided to students on campus which helped them gain industry-required knowledge and bag internships as well

Placement Experience :

Students Become eligible for placements right from the 4th Term Around 180-190 companies visited the campus for placements last year The highest package offered was around 32 lakhs per annum and the average package was around 16 lakhs per annum All students are placed. IIM Visakhapatnam has a 100% placement rate My plan is to join the marketing department of a reputed company as a Brand Manager

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There is no fees hike as of now There are numerous opportunities for students, especially from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category. Other than that the institute provides a merit-based scholarship for the academic topper in the first year.

Campus Life :

Samaarambh is the annual cultural fest of IIM Visakhapatnam and is conducted in the month of February There are a lot of books on Managerial subjects available in the library if someone wants to do an in-depth study other than the course material which is provided to them. Other than that there are journals, newspapers and magazines available as well. Even biographies of famous and successful personalities. The classrooms are tidy and have 2 Televisions, and 2 Projectors to view presentations and are well organized with even cameras which track and detect the movement of any lecturer for anyone who would like to view a lecture from a different classroom. A lot of sports and extra curricular activities can be undertaken on the campus with a world-class sports complex consisting of a gym, basketball court, football ground, Athletic track, cricket ground, Pool table and Table tennis area available. The Student Affairs Council here is the voice of the students at IIM Visakhapatnam.

Hostel Facilities :

1. Adequate number of lights, even for the study table, bed is provided. Along with WIFI, Lan Cable and adequate storage is provided. The WIFI is super fast as well. 2. The meals provided are nutritious and really great in taste. 3. Registration process was very smooth for the hostel. It is affordable in terms of the excellent facilities provided.

Admission :

Eligibility: It is based on a CAT score. CAT is the toughest management entrance exam in India. Other criteria include your academic record and work experience. The criteria and weightage for each change every year The application form can be found on the Common Admission Test website. The fees are in the range of 1000-1500 rupees and the dates to fill usually start around July-august as the exam is conducted in November The IIM Vishakhapatnam admission process is the smoothest that I have ever seen in my academic career. There is a proper amalgamation of student volunteers and administration members who took efforts to make sure the admission process goes on smoothly

Interview Experience :

The interview consisted of questions from the faculty about my hobbies, academics, work experience and a bit of general knowledge The criteria for admission include academics, work experience, extra curricular achievements and CAT score. The weights for the same are no consistent though and change every year I prepared for the interview by reading newspapers, following up on current affairs and giving mock PIs to my father.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of the college is very good and also it helps the students to know the basics of business. I guarantee that the people who want to start a business could get a better knowledge of marketing aspects. Not only that due to the proper curriculum and also topics involved in it, we can have proper knowledge on each core subject. There will be 2 mid-exams and also for every year 2 semesters of exams will be conducted.

Placement Experience:

The students get opportunities from the 4th trimester itself but the majority of companies visit in the 5th trimester. In my academic year, due to recession the offers got affected but the college generally gets 100% placements with decent median package. For my batch the average was 12 lpa. The lowest and highest were 6 lpa and 22 lpa. The companies which offer great packages are Nomura, HSBC, Barclay's, Yubi etc.

From the 4th semester, students can get placements. The average package for the students opting for this course will be around 5LPA. One need have minimum percentage of 70% to get placed. So maximum of the students around 80% will get placed. I will join the company based on the offers I receive from the placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course because of I have more interest on business and business environment. In our college, the faculty is too bad because they not well trained and even sometimes they will not provide faculty also. The way of teaching is also not good. The term exams are moderate and if we study means we will definetely pass.

Admission:

I took the APICET exam and then I contacted the college through their helpline and then I was told to fill out the form online and the cut off marks was above 70% and my score in the test was 74% and then my application got shortlisted and had counseling and chose this college and did a documentation and that is how my admission is done.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell in our college guides and assist us. They held workshops for us and test to improve our soft skills and our communication skills. The placement works hard to place a number of students to a big companies and invited companies like Mayur group of industries, Mahindra, Reliance, etc.
