Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because its curriculum was very well structured and had varied subjects for students to learn and develop their skills. There was also an equal amount of practical and theory subjects. There are about 8-10 faculties for 150+ students in total. Most of the faculties have at least a Master's degree in their specialized subject and some even possess a PhD. Exams were conducted regularly as scheduled and they were Easy- moderate to pass.

Internships Opportunities :

Students from my batch got placed in many reputable Advertising Agencies like OPN Advertising, Ogilvy, DDB Mudra etc. I personally worked on notable projects in Bigg boss 3, Chennai Super Kings and Gulf Oil

Placement Experience :

From Semester 5, students can sit for placements. Some companies like Social Beat, Ting etc There are only limited campus placements. Most students get placed off campus or become freelancers or entrepreneurs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee for the course is slightly on the higher end when compared to other courses because they provide many amenities like design labs, Photo & film studios, use of equipment etc. The fee when I studied (2018-2021) was 90,000 per year. The student might have to spend extra for books, art supplies, photography trips, buying laptop & cameras etc. There aren't any scholarships for the course. There are general scholarships available. There are no campus jobs with stipends available.

Campus Life :

The campus life was amazing. There's one or the other cultural events that will be happening on campus. Jhankar, Abhilasha & Vish were the most famous ones. The library is well equipped with all the relevant books needed for the required subjects. All classrooms are equipped with high-quality desks & chairs, projector etc. Interested students can take part in NCC, sports like Basketball, Volley Ball, Hand Ball, Kho-Kho etc. There is a well-organized general Student body called the Student Parliament with more than 100s members Each department has its own club with various activities and inter-departmental competitions held regularly.

Admission :

Must have passed 12th standard in any stream Must possess strong visualizing and creative skills Application forms, Fees, and course description can be found on the college's official website There's no reservation

Interview Experience :

- There were 2 stages to get an admission into the course. 1. General affairs MCQ test & Drawing/ Visualization test 2. Group Discussion, Portfolio review & Personal Interview - In the General affairs MCQ test, various questions will be asked from topics related to Media. films, design, art etc. - In the Drawing test, students will be asked to illustrate simple objects, scenario, logo etc. - Group Discussion: There will be a faculty moderator with 6-8 students per batch. A general trending/ current affairs topic will be given for discussion. students will be graded based on their communication skills. - Personal Interview & portfolio review: Students are required to showcase a Portfolio with their fine arts, design and photography works. Along with that the student will be asked some questions regarding their portfolios, their interest in particular fields etc. - I prepared for the written exam by browsing a few topics on the internet - Portfolio: creating art works, designs, photos

Placement Experience:

The placements are best in this college. VIT Is known for Its placements and the highest package is 88LPA with average 8LPA. TOP MNC companies come here and companies like GOOGLE, Microsoft, Intel hire students. If incase on campus placement was not offered then also there would not be much problem because the skills that are taught in the course are advanced and it is easy to get a job with all these skills. The fourth semester students are usually eligible for placements usually the onces who have Completed their total number of credits. Since our course was started, 2 batches passed out, the highest package was 22LPA by intel and last batch out of 45, 25 were placed with many in intel with more than 14+LPA. After getting the degree, my plan is to work with a startup company for 2 years and then get experience.
