  • Inexperienced professors, a lack of concern for students and guidance was a bit low in the studies part.
  • Experimental things were very hectic, sudden change in plans and way of treatment.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I didn't choose the course based on the curriculum rather it was because of my friend. But the curriculum is good it will allow us to grow as people but the class was taken using ppt which made us to only study the ppt rather than studying topics out of the ppt which made us really lazy and the surprising thing was only referring to the ppt would allow you to score good marks. The curriculum in the undergraduate program doesn't help much with real-world scenarios or situations. The exams were relatively easy as we could pass only by studying the ppt. The method of teaching using ppt could be changed and more experienced teachers could help.

Internships Opportunities :

Zero stipends were given and the college doesn't give us any opportunity for internship we have to search for internship and pay for it and do the internship to get the certificate. I have done internship as a HR, and psychologist.

Placement Experience :

There wasn't much support for people who studied in psychology department because the placement was for sales and bpo sector nothing much was available for us. 5th and 6th sem that is the last sem was the time when students were eligible for placement. Skolar, mahathi soft tech, rnd softtech and offers were there were local companies. Highest package was 5 to 6 LPA and the average package was 2 LPA. 30 to 50 percent of students got placed. I am working as a Language trainer.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

50000 rupees was asked for the tuition fee for a year, the course was for 3 years which amounted to 150000 for 3 years. I was asked to pay 5000 as admission fee in 2021, now it is around 10 to 20k. There were many other charges such as lab fee, record fee, college celebration fee and many other hidden fee. I was just a normal admission, all of my batchmates had to pay the same amount.

Campus Life :

Many festivals are conducted in the college each year, onam festival, new year festival and many other culturals are celebrated. Many books are available in the library and there are also many e-libraries. Sports is taken care of only for few sports, hackathon and many other activities take place. Clubs, nss ncc are run by students under the guidance of faculty.

Admission :

The fees over here was low compared to other colleges that I tried to get into. The fees was 80000 per year at GRD institute so I opted rathinam it was really eye opening for me. I didn't face any rejection from any college. There wasn't much eligibility to join the college, no exams were also conducted.

Faculty :

1 faculty for every 30 students, we have 9 staffs in our department. The student faculty relationship was really friendly because the staffs were recent graduates. They had little experience to no experience in teaching. We had to adjust to certain things but as students of psychology experienced teachers would have created much better experience for us. Laxmi Priya ma'am was my best teacher due to her friendly nature and also she was my class advisor. Krishna prabha ma'am was someone I didn't like because of her teaching They were literally so many exams that we hardly had time to breathe. 30 to 40 percent of the Students failed to clear the exams. The course curriculum is said to be one of the best in Coimbatore.

Night Life :

Stone bench, library and gym is the place where I hangout very much. After the college time it is not allowed for people to loiter in the campus. The safest place to hangout at night can be Eachanari and the library.

Placement Experience:

The placements are best in this college. VIT Is known for Its placements and the highest package is 88LPA with average 8LPA. TOP MNC companies come here and companies like GOOGLE, Microsoft, Intel hire students. If incase on campus placement was not offered then also there would not be much problem because the skills that are taught in the course are advanced and it is easy to get a job with all these skills. The fourth semester students are usually eligible for placements usually the onces who have Completed their total number of credits. Since our course was started, 2 batches passed out, the highest package was 22LPA by intel and last batch out of 45, 25 were placed with many in intel with more than 14+LPA. After getting the degree, my plan is to work with a startup company for 2 years and then get experience.

Because I completed science group in my school so I take this course. The faculty-student ratio is 5:10 Qualification is minimum for postgraduates, And the teaching methods are pretty good Exams will come every 6 months once, Maybe sometimes less than that.
