Course Curriculum Overview :
Reason for choosing the course was mainly because I was interested in the software domain. Also IT sector in one of the most in demand sector so it was also good from career prospective. This college has great placement records and is one of the oldest engineering college of Delhi also one of the most reputed in both GGSIPU and Delhi region. It has various great accreditation hence it was a fair choice. The faculty is mostly good and cooperative but yes there are some teachers who just teach for the sake of teaching and also focus more on attendance. The student ratio is not that great , it's around 1:8 for my class (G:B). Most of the faculties, or almost all of them are PHD holders the teaching methods are mostly primitive which is black board teaching with almost no focus on practical implementations. Exam system is very rigours for first 2 sems although the level of exams is not difficult. Single semester is around 3.5 mon , with internals and external exams included.
Internships Opportunities :
No internship availed as of yet. Although various companies like HCl and Microsoft fo offer internships here, programs like gsoc ( Google Summer of code ) are also great if you have good knowledge about your tech stack and are competitive.
Placement Experience :
From the last year itself which is the 7th sem the students become eligible for placements and the on-campus placements here are amongst the best in private colleges in Delhi with an average package of around 9 lakhs. Many big companies do visit every year with various 1cr plus packages off campus. So be assured of that. The highest package last year was 1.25 CR offered by Amazon Dublin This year it's around 1.5 CR by Google. All these enormous packages are off campus. On campus, the highest is around 39 lpa offered by Adobe. The placement percentage is almost 100 percent with almost double the head offers for those who opt. My plan is also to grab a fair placement in some mnc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee hike is significantly low as it is a semi-government college, also the fees are significantly lower than any other engineering college such as dtu or nsut as the college size here is not that big. There are many kinds of scholarships although I haven't availed of any, which I guess are based on the annual earnings of the parents, also there are some skill-based scholarships offered by the government itself. Since I am 2nd sem right now I have not yet appeared for placements.
Campus Life :
There are 1-2 fest annually which are the tech and cultural fests, also there are fests that organised by the university for all colleges under University which are quite gigantic. The college fests in itself are comparatively on smaller scale. The month of all the fest are March - April as well as in late October. The library is quite big and we'll maintain and almost all the books are available, including new editions as well as books for coding. The sports in college are negligible with no focus on extracurriculars, there are 2-3 events throughout the year except that only study is the focus. There are a huge amount of clubs and society's in the college which is one of the most amazing factors from Ecell to IEEE these societies organize some great events for the students.
Admission :
First of all about the eligibility: you need to appear for the JEE(Joint Entrance exam) mains and should have passed class 12 from a recognized board in order to apply for the college. The college MSIT, Delhi comes under the GGSIPU which is a state government University in Delhi. To find the application form, the candidate must visit the official website of the university itself, there you have to fill 2 forms respectively. Form 1 will be an application form whereas the 2nd form will be for the online counseling process, notice the dates for the availability of these forms as they might close off with time, candidates usually get time to fill these forms after jee results as well as between consecutive rounds of counseling. The admission process is generally smooth, although it does take significantly more time than the jac counseling, therefore the candidate must be patient. Also, some remorse ranks might be seen in rounds which usually get fixed till the last round. Otherwise ok.
Other Applied Colleges
Acharya Narendra Dev College - [ANDC] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Physics)
I wasn't interested in opting a graduate based course and was rather more interested in technical education.
