Entrance Preview :

I gave JEE Advance, I opted bachelor of technology in ECE and I chose this college because its best college of India and provide best placement opportunities to it's students.

Internships Opportunities :

One has to arrange for its own internship but BITM brands comes in very handy. Stipend would be 25-30k per month. I did my internship in a core textiles company. Applied online and was called for interview.

Placement Experience :

Placement cell was well established with the leading companies visiting the campus for placements. The companies ranged from consultancy firms to banks to manufacturing cos to IT firms to PSUs.

Campus Life :

Extracurricular activities and sports were very good with almost all facilities available for the students. Various clubs organized competitions for robotics, debates which were of a very high standard.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities were not upto the mark for an institute of this stature. Bathrooms were hardly cleaned and facilities like washing machines/water cooler etc were few and far between. Mess food varied between satisfactory and inedible.

External Expense : Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumni Network is very strong and holds regular meeting and cultural events and reunions. College seniors were very helpful and supportive of juniors in all their endeavors including career counselling.

Faculty :

The Faculty was very experienced with a proven pedagogy in their respective fields. However, there was an adherence to traditional methods of teaching rather than innovations.

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

Overall only one thing is important is about hardwork with smart work . You have to work on your skills rest college is there to help you to show the path from your college to carrier .

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

Remarks:

One of the good colleges.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
