Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is very much in line with the industry norms + requirements and curtails the number of guest lectures (usually 2-3 per subject) from industry stalwarts. the curriculum is bifurcated into 6 terms + summer internships. The faculty pool is one of the best in the country in terms of management education, more than 90% of the faculty have phd affiliations from the top tier universities from India and abroad (including but not limited to Havard, Standford and Wharton). They not only possess industrial experience and prowess in research but also held consulting positions in prominent PSUs, Govt. projects and corporate giants. The class usually consists of 60-65 students, with the current student-to-faculty ratio being 7:1. The curriculum is very much pragmatic and includes healthy exposure to learn from the institute's alumni and other giants of the country (both public and corporate). The curriculum plan is followed to the dot and exams are conducted on time every time.

There are no unscheduled fee hikes and students view it as an investment as there is a good return in terms of placement. It's usually conducted in the month of Jan/Feb. There are a plethora of books, databases, journals and finance terminals available in the library which are accessible 24 hrs for the entire year. Admission :

There are 3 programs that are offered - PGP, PGP-ABM (an Agribusiness management course) and PGP-SM (Sustainability Management). The admission process consists of a qualifying call-based composite score calculated on CAT(Common Admission Test) as well as past academic performance and professional accomplishments (including WorkEx and professional courses). The norms of reservations are as per central govt directives as its government institution and thus relaxation in composite score cutoff is provided for the call therefore cutoff score is different for different programs. Post the call is received, personal interviews and WAT - Written Ability Test are conducted. The normalized score of these (40% for 2022) with a CAT weightage of 30% (2022 - for PGP), 10% Academic performance, 5% diversity factor and 5% work-ex is provided. Please note that this was the case in 2022- as no WAT was conducted due to Covid and is subject to change. CAT applications are floated in Aug/Sept.

Interview Experience :

There hasn't been a GD round for the past few years due to covid restrictions, Interviews are usually with a panel of two and range across topics including some basic HR based (Why MBA?, why IIML?, tell me something about yourself), Professional experience, academics( questions pertaining to individual's grad subjects), fields of interests (including hobbies, general knowledge - constitutions, political & apolitical happenings, business word, finance events etc, current events and sometimes abstract). Sometimes they are grilling too. The students often prepare from different programs offered by different coaching centres along with a mentor allocated by the institute (should you have the institute's PI call). The admission test is based on CAT which has questions on Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation and logical reasoning & Quantitative aptitude.

Placement Experience:

Placements are moderate here . Many companies including big mncs come for the Placement drive thorugh an internal body of the university i.e Training and Placement Office . The packages provided by companies are of medium level . As the Aligarh city is a developing city so here the amount of companies and skilled workforce is not in that much amount so the packages offered by the companies are of medium level.

Remarks:

Since I have graduated from this university, the option to choose it over other private universities was like a homecoming for me. They consider only the results of the CAT/MAT/UPSEE or IUET entrance exams, or any other entrance test for MBA approved by prestigious universities when considering admission to the MBA program. Based on my CAT score, I was admitted to the MBA program.

Placement Experience:

More than 95 companies participated in our campus recruitment drive. Some of the major recruiters of our placement program included Deloitte, Capgemini, Amazon, Axis Bank, Infosys, HDFC Bank, HCL, Samsung, etc. At the campus recruitment program, more than 600 types of job designations were offered. The maximum package offered by the recruiters was at 12 Lacs.

Remarks:

Galgotias University from where I am doing MBA is a private university which is a member of AIU and is approved by UGC. Further, the placement record from MBA department is 90% and overall 100% placement rate has been witnessed. Also, the fee structure for MBA program 3.2 lakhs for 2 year and that is quite low as compared to other college's management fee So, basically for all these reasons, I decided to opt for MBA program from this University.Further, when I saw the placement rate, its ranking I waited for the release of application form and lastly, in the month of June and paid 1100 as application fee. Moreover, while filling the form, I provided my marks obtained in 10th, 12th and undergraduate and since, the admission for MBA is done on the basis of CAT, MAT, CMAT, and other exams, I provided my score of CAT exam. Then, based on my score in CAT exam, I got admission into this college.

Placement Experience:

For us, to get placed in good organisation, the placement cell of our college remains active for whole year and plays and important role in inviting leading companies to participate in placement drive. Moreover, our faculty members help us a lot as they train us to work as a team, enhance our presentation and communication skills and develop positive attitude and confidence in us. Further, our college holds 90% on campus placement record to top organisations like ICICI Bank, Just dial limited, Indiamart, Genpact, EFL, Byju's, HDFC Bank, and others.Among all the recruiters, the highest package offered was 10 LPA by LIDO Learning whereas the average package witnessed was 4 LPA.Since, the placement rate of our college is good and the participating employers offer decent package, I have decided to continue with my work once I get placed in a good company.
