Course Curriculum Overview :

I have been in law since the 10th grade, so I decided to give the CLAT examination in my 11th standard in order to get into one of the prestigious NLUs around the nation. The faculty in our university is quite good for the core law subjects, and all of them create a new interest in the subject they are teaching through their passion for the subject. Teaching methods followed by our professors in GNLU are mostly through classroom discussions and PowerPoint presentations. Our professors have completed their PHDs from some of the country's prestigious institutions and have an immense passion for their subject. They are eager to hear from the students about the new developments in their respective subjects and always encourage class discussions. They are also ready to have one on one conversations with the students and are always there to help the students with their doubts. Professors in GNLU have always been kind and student-friendly (of course with few exceptions).

Internships Opportunities :

Internships are also offered by the top-tier firms of the nation, along with some firms established by the ALUMNI of the university. Firms like NDA, LKS, Khaitan and co., SAM, CAM, and JSA offer a good number of internships every year to students. The stipend is also provided to the students who perform well in their internships. The minimum amount of stipend one can expect is 5000.

Placement Experience :

Students are eligible for campus placements right from their 4th year. We have our Day 0 in the month of august in our final year although most of the batchmates start getting their PPOs right from their 4th year. Top tier firms like SAM, CAM, AZB, NDA, Khaitan, Indus, and JSA, visit our campus for conducting the interviews on Da zero. Our seniors have been made 70 offers and 40 students got their jobs through campus placements. The highest Package lies around 22 lahks per annum and the average package is 6 lakh per annum. But very few students get placed through college placements and one has to be in the top 40 of the batch in order to get it through college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Our fee has been hiked a lot post covid despite many concerns raised by the students. Our per annum fee currently goes up to around 2,50,000 Rs/-. The cost to study and monthly expense ranges on the needs of the student, but the university provides almost everything, and a student would not have much additional expense other than the university fees. There are many scholarships one can avail of through the help of the accounts department of our university. One can also take part in the research activities of the university and help professors and teaching assistants in the university to get a monthly stipend. These applications are sent by the university administration through the mail, and one can apply through them to avail of these benefits.

Campus Life :

Student Activity Committee of our university conducts one of the most fun fests of our university Pentagram in the month of march. Justice league is another major sports fest conducted by the sports committee in the month of February. We also have Garba night during the first days of navaratri and many intra-sports activities happening all throughout the year. We have a large collection of books in our library and the library staff is always ready to help you with any book you want to find. We have too many committees to keep the students occupied all through the day and participate in the activities they are into. We have the mott court committee, dance and music club, debate group, digital media club, sports club. We have a football field, basketball field, tennis field, badminton field, and volleyball and throwball courts to keep us occupied post classes. Our students also run academic websites with the help of the faculties for various academic centres of the university.

Hostel Facilities :

Our hostel rooms provide very basic facilities. Girls get their own rooms from their 2nd year and boys share their rooms through law school. We have separate washrooms in the girl's hostel, but they have a common washroom in the boy's hostel. We have a compulsory hostel policy so everyone has to stay at the hostel and so a room is allocated to everyone although the locals go back home post their classes. Our mess menu is of average quality. We get to eat as much food and there is no limit on the quantity of food one can take but the quality is just okayish. There is no separate registration process for the hostel. Everyone who gets admission into the university is allotted a hostel room too in the beginning itself.

Admission :

I gave my CLAT in 2019. I took my coaching from the career launcher in Hyderabad and prepared for the examination. The only eligibility criteria for CLAT is that you will have to finish your 12th standard with a minimum of 55%. A person with reservations has different criteria. Application fees during the time I gave the examination were 4000 per application. The dates are announced by the CLAT committee every year. So you will have to keep a check on the official website of CLAT.

Placement Experience:

Students start giving mock interviews from their 8th semester itself. The campus placements from Nirma is pretty average. Companies like Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and Trilegal visit Nirma but they give an offer to only 1 or 2 students. Most of the companies offer a package around 8,00,000 per annum. I plan to take the judicial services examination after the completion of my degree.

Placement Experience:

For law students internship after every semester is mandatory. Hence, if they perform well there they can get placements without campus placements. In campus from corporate houses to various big law firms came and offered jobs worth 10-15LPA per annum. The placement percentage dropped significantly in our year and I don't know why but only half the students had placements from the campus. However, some students got placements worth 20LPA or more from our campus.
