Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose this college mainly because the course has various job opportunities in the fields of pharmacy, laboratories and research. 33 students are there in my batch. The faculties are well educated and they are able to convey the messages clearly to the students. Their way of teaching is similar, however, they use their native language Tamil a little bit. Most of the teachers have completed PhD in atleast one subject. The exams are conducted every semester and results are also published soon within a time period of one month after the examination.
Internships Opportunities :
Cipla offered a student placement with a 20000 rs starting salary last year. A good placement cell is there they will make the students ready for achieve good posts in different companies. Most of the students are placed as lab technicians and laboratory assistants. Some of them choosed for higher studies. some of the students are placed in pharmaceutical companies as drug analysers and in various other fields. Many students have found their opportunities in quality control fields of food and water
Placement Experience :
From the 4th semester onwards students are eligible for placements. Various companies including sun Pharma, Cipla, devis laboratories etc are important among the companies offered placement for students About 10% of students are getting a placement with a salary starting from 20000rs . Most of the students are placed with a minimum salary of rs 10000.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees are a little bit lower compared to other colleges in India. The fee structure for MSc biochemistry is 25000 per semester and we have to pay examination fees separately which vary from 1500 to 4000. Various scholarships under state/central government like Post matric scholarships are available for the students who are eligible.
Campus Life :
Since students from various states like Kerala, Tamilnadu, Rajasthan etc are there. The fests are also conducted accordingly. The fest "Onam" is conducted for the students of Kerala in the month of July /August which varies according to the Malayalam calendar. A fest in association with the Pongal is celebrated in the month of January. A vast library with a huge collection of textbooks relevant to my discipline is there. Class rooms and laboratories are well infrastructured and we'll have various sports activities mainly cricket is encouraged here. Peer corner is conducted by the students where the students they their selves clear their doubts and discuss the topics. The infrastructure is available in the college yard . Above that, a corner is available with a sit-out where the students can sit and talk with each other about various educational content.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel rooms are well equipped. chairs. The food is prepared at the hostel canteen. Which is Hygenic. food is moderately tasty. The main food items include dosa and sambar. Mineral water is provided in the hostel for drinking
Admission :
50% marks are the eligibility criteria for admission to post-graduation. The application for admission is available both online and offline. If you choose offline you have to visit the admission cell. admission for post-graduation was open from August 2022 last year. There are reservations available for students belonging to the sc/St category.
