Remarks :
The admission process went smoothly. The seniors were very helpful in this case. However, very less time is allotted for admission. Within 5-10 minutes, you've to fill in everything and get yourself admitted. It creates stress and problem when there's a poor internet connection.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Political Science is the most sought-after course in the uni. I chose it because of the wide variety of scopes that it has. The diversity in political science is very intriguing, you get to study and then make a decision on your further plans because there are options, one way or the other. Girl students are more in number. The faculty is very friendly and caring, and they'll make you feel at home. All the professors are highly qualified, most of them have done masters and Ph.D. from JNU or research from abroad. They've their own styles of teaching. Classes are very interactive, and insightful and more focus is given to debates, dialogues, and discussions. Mid-term exams take place after 2 months since college starts. End-term exams are basically in January. Exams aren't that difficult to pass, only 8/9 marks are required to pass the mid-term. However, sufficient attendance is required to be qualified for the exams. Passing the mid-term is compulsory to be qualified for the end term.
Internships Opportunities :
As far as I know, internship opportunities are provided but either paid or unpaid. There are a lot of projects, research work, and field tasks that you'll get to enjoy, too. However, placements and internships are something that the university has to do a little work on.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
If your annual income is 120000 or less, there will be no semester fees and the admission fee will also be refunded after the successful submission of the income certificate. Otherwise, it's 4000-5000 per semester. Financial assistance is given after an application to the registrar. Campus jobs are also available, people who do graduate and masters usually land on one with some really good stipends.
Campus Life :
The library is a huge one. You can go there and study, or find the book you want on the common computer and xerox it. There is the drama society, writers society, cultural society, NSS, NCC, cricket club, etc. You have to go through a registration process to be a part of these groups or clubs. Cotton University is full of events, you'll find yourself grooving to some music every now and then. And that's mainly because of the hostels. They organize cultural evenings, prom nights, lantern fests, and so on. In Cotton, elections are the biggest festival. September and October are basically the months of programs and functions. The university is full of talent, you'll find tons of opportunities to rise and shine.
