Remarks :
Eligibility for admission in civil engineering is you have to clear 10+2 with a good number of marks in the non-medical stream. if you are willing to go into the engineering field. I was worried after 10+2. Firstly I took admission in my nearby college in mathematics. Then a friend of mine who was doing engineering at the same college suggested me that field. I check the website as the college is a branch of Rayat bahra. I went there with all my documents as the admission process was totally based on merit basis. They provide me with an application form and submit Rs500 for admission confirmation. As I belong from Kashmir, a good concession in fee was offered to me. we went to a hostel for admission. The best part is that the hostel is within the vicinity of the college. A good number of security guards guard the college. The college is located on the main highway from Patiala to Sangrur, with its own transportation facilities.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I only choose this course because there are more things to be improved in terms of infrastructure in Kashmir. we were 63 students in our batch 2015 and as per subjects were faculty. Also for the lab there were related experienced staff. Apart from this, we had a HOD, who was heading all the staff of our branch. All the faculty members were well-qualified and experienced. The teaching method of the faculty was unique and they used always alternatives to help us understand.HOD used to inspect along with the director of the college to check the knowledge gap of students and all feedback was shared at that particular point. Lab classes were provided to help students in understanding practically. Exams are like MST every month and reports were shared by HOD itself. After that semester exams are conducted after 6 months for which dates are decided by MAHARAJA RANJIT SINGH PUNJAB TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY. The exams depend on the hard work of students.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college fee structure of college varies from categories. As the fee for OM students with good merit generally is between Rs70000-75000 per year. For category students, it is mainly Rs50000-55000 per year. Also, many students who had some other categories were awarded scholarships, that too depends. There are various scholarships offered by colleges like PMSSS, Minority, and NSP.
Campus Life :
There were many small quizzes, programs, and activities going on monthly in college but yearly two big fests are there which are joined by each and every student as well as faculty. Firstly the fresher's welcome party which is conducted in April in which newly admitted students are welcomed. The good thing is that also some chief guests from either University or Bollywood inaugurate that fest. The other is on the welfare of last year's students. There is a big library in college in which each and every book is reserved. The students in their free time visit the library and also the faculty recommends the same. classrooms are well-ventilated with newly designed desks. Sitting Arrangements for separate girls and boys and water coolers are fixed at particular places. Students keep also enjoying the different gaming events along with their studies. A well-organized canteen with fresh dishes and different varieties of things keeps students attracted. A page on Facebook namely the Bahra group of institutions is active.
