Remarks :

The college management is little unorganised.Usually they do not have any clue about the exam dates or admission dates ,they give very random answers when students want information.

Entrance Preview :

I took admission for my First year i.e FYB.A.The admissions were completely merit based.I got 78% and my name was there in the 3 rd merit list.I choose KC college since it's a very reputed college, plus i heard it has the best psychology department in Mumbai.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The college is affiliated with Mumbai university so the course curriculum is according to MU. The course focus is mostly 'theory' and very less of 'practical knowledge '.Still its quite useful for students.Subjects like sociology has helped students to have a different perspective about the society.

Internships Opportunities :

There is an employment cell in my college which helps students to seek jobs either part time or full time and even internships related to their field of study.

Placement Experience :

Companies like Wipro, Axis bank ,Yes bank ,Larsen & toubro ,Taj groups, Accenture are placement partners of our college. These companies do take deserving candidates and give them a job.Since i a TY students ,i don't know much about the job opportunities. But yes ,i can definitely say that they do have a lot of opportunities.

College Events :

'KIRAN' is the biggest festival of our college which has a lot of games ,singing ,dancing ,food stalls etc. For students interested in psychology there is cognitive hypnotherapy session held in college. Also event like 'parnuses' was held for english literature students.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

For a complete BA course, fees is somewhere around ₹5000 each year. The fees differs for reserved category. For me the fee structure was extremely affordable. The unaided section for others courses is expensive . The fees may go upto ₹25,000-₹35,000. There is no unaided section for BA course.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There are scholarships given to students who are from a lower economic backgrounds. I personally have not taken any loans or availed off any scholarships.

Campus Life :

There is a lot of cultural diversity in our college.students come from different cultures to study. There are farewells held in our college. A lot of workshops on literary happens. students do participate in these workshops for writing poems etc. Students do show a lot of tolerance towards other cultural background students.

Hostel Facilities :

There is no hostel facility available for my college students. There are nearby hostels like one in mumbai central and charni road. There are PG rooms available but are expensive since its in south Mumbai. The canteen of our college is a bit expensive even though i am happy with the food quality .

Alumni/Alumna :

The seniors are helpful.During admissions many seniors volunteer for helping the students and parents in admission process. Also they sometimes clear a lot of doubts in the junior's head for eg.when will the admissions take place ,the criteria for admission. The provide the estimates.

Exam Structure :

The exam structure is a bit stressful. Our semester exams have back to back papers ,giving us no holidays in between which created a lot of stress among students. Also in our internal exams we had two papers on one single day, which again was stressful.

Admission :

I filled up a online application form on the KC college website.Every merit list was put up on the website.I had my name in the 3 rd merit list,so i went to the college and verified my documents and paid the fees through DD. The admission process for me was pretty simple. There are also volunteers who help students during admissions.

Faculty :

The faculty of my college is excellent. All the teachers hold either masters degree or Ph.D. Teachers are extremely helpful and kind. They even help students beyond the spheres of academics. The psychology teachers are the best. They are so much interested in teaching and are very good at it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The college curriculum is great it is set well but not that great. It gives the basic knowledge of everything related to the subject and that helps me in further studies and my job in the future. But it needs of improvement cause it's not really set perfectly cause the 4th sem syllabus is needed in the 3rd sem cause it is based on each other. The exam timing is worst in our college it comes like a surprise without anyone's expectations. The syllabus is not even complete half the exam cones.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Doing B.A. is always a good choice, I choose this course because it was also available in an away study method. Ycmou have study centers. So, we have recorded lectures of a really good faculty and students no. Changes in each study center. All faculty teaches online only with presentations and book reading methods. There are yearly exams only containing theory and practical exams. They are very easy to pass.

Remarks:

I choosen this Idol University because I have to prepare for upsc and I wanted a hassle free college life so I can focus on my upsc syllabus and surely it worked. Course which was offered in the university was even helpful and easy to read. I haven't read any blog while selecting this college I just watched some upsc toppers interview and finally I made decision to get admitted in idol where I can save plenty of time to accelerate my upsc preparation and I am happy because my plan worked.
