MAKAUT Experience

Remarks :

Artificial Intelligence has always fascinated me and after doing B.Tech in it, I decided to pursue M.Tech. I selected this university as one of my cousins did M.Tech from here and he found it a great place, so he suggested me to give the entrance exam conducted by the university. I too found this university good and applied here via the application portal. The process was smooth. My university’s aura is great.

Entrance Preview :

I had to clear two exams to get admission here. First was the entrance exam conducted by the university itself, called WBUT PGET (Postgraduate Entrance Test) and the second was GATE. I performed well in both of them and received a call letter from the university. During the counselling, I showed my class 10th & 12th scorecard, graduation degree, WBUT PGET scorecard, and GATE scorecard. Once my documents were verified, I had to pay the fee.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum of my course comprised part from B.Tech, as an introductory part and later we were taught in detail about the new topics. Practical classes played an important role as it was very important to practically understand the functioning of Artificial Intelligence-related things such as AI robots and other mechanisms. The size of my batch was comparatively small than B.Tech, which helped in better communication with the teachers. The teachers had great knowledge and shared their ideas with us.

Placement Experience :

During the placement drive, I saw many famous, globally recognized companies that offered a good package to the suitable ones. There were companies like Google, OpenAI, AEye, Neurala, etc. The packages offered by them ranged from ₹10,00,000 to ₹15,00,000. I got placed at AEye with a package of ₹12,00,000.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

My program’s annual fee was around ₹86,000 and no other fee was charged other than that. My books were around ₹6,000 for a year. I found the fee pocket-friendly as per the program. I paid the fee in instalments and no scholarship benefit was given to me.

Campus Life :

Most of my time was spent in classrooms and laboratories, so I didn’t pay much heed to what was going on inside the campus. The library was huge with books from different fields. The infrastructure appealed to me and some events were also organized. The interior of my university was also nice, the classrooms were spacious, and with innovative tools.

Remarks:

Before joining Mtech in Computer Science and Data Processing (Mathematics department) in IIT Kharagpur I completed M.Sc in Mathematics from IIT Madras. At that time wanted to go for industry jobs so I decided to pursue M.Tech course related to computer science. Specifically, I am interested in Machine learning and statistical data analysis. That time I had two options either IIT Madras (Mtech in Industrial mathematics and scientific computing) or IIT Kharagpur (Mtech in CSDP). I preferred IIT Kgp and joined it.

Placement Experience:

A lot of tech companies visit the college like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Capgemini for placements. Hence, if you score well and have your concepts clear, the placement changes increases a lot.

I took PGET(Post Graduate Entrance Test) 2014, and My State rank was 274. I was wanted to study power system and only few colleges are there to give m.tech in power system. The best college in view of infrastructure and as well as faculty is Narula Institute of Technology. That is the main reason for opting this college.

Admission:

For admission you can direct contact in their admission desk and the phone no. is- +91 33 2583 7029. One should qualify for the above written exam and do call the admission desk or directly walk into the college for the admission.

GATE my score was 745. I opt for this college because it was the best college i ever dreamt of in by b tech also the course that i wanted was only in this college. One more thing was its location not very far from my home.

Placement Experience:

Placement status is declining day by day though the overall placement status is better than most of the colleges. Companies like nestle, tetrapack, mother dairy always come for placement and packages lie between 6 to 9 lpa.
