Remarks :
Anyone with a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of work experience is eligible to enroll. The application forms along with deadlines are clearly stated on their website. Scholarships are also available based on Academics, Family income, and if parents belong to a defense background. There are 3 rounds in the interview process starting with the STAT test, then the Group discussion, and finally the personal interview round post in which an offer of admission is released. There are also some essays the student is required to write and submit as part of the admission process. The entire process can span anywhere between 10-15 days and sometimes longer depending on the slot availability. There is no cut-off as there is no requirement to submit scores to entrance tests.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is very densely packed and classes start from 9 in the morning and go on until 7 in the evening. sometimes even up to 8.15 pm depending on the choice of electives. Students are given options to choose cohort to major and minor. Double majors and single major sans minor is also allowed. Most faculty members are helpful and teaching is not bad overall. There are some stellar academicians that are roped in as visiting faculty. Each subject is packed with assignments, quizzes, activities, and exams which are all part of the overall grading mechanism at SOIL.
Placement Experience :
The institution has a place com team consisting of faculty and student members that bring in companies during the placement season. Placement purely depends on the potential of the student and his past work experience and majorly performance in the interview rounds. The college follows a standard protocol for applying to companies wherein, the student is allowed to attend an interview if his/her profile is shortlisted by the Company for their further rounds. Almost 100% of the batch gets placed every year unless students opt out of the placement cycle or remain unplaced for other disciplinary reasons. The kind of Companies that visit campus range from Banks to Consulting firms to startups and software MNCs. The average placement I believe is 11LPA. The highest placement this year was around 18 LPA from the Marketing cohort. The institution follows a hygiene factor and therefore ensures placement above the 7 LPA threshold.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The institution gives out scholarships that are based on academics, family income, and defense background (if applicable). It works on a first come- first serve basis so it is advisable to apply early on in the admission cycle to avail of the scholarship. Placements every year have been moderate to good. the average placement number is 11 and the average work experience of the batch profile is around 2-3 years with ages ranging from 22-32. The College also provides a Research assistantship instead of a scholarship wherein a student can earn a monthly stipend upon working a certain number of hours a month. It could be in any vertical ranging from marketing to the admissions department.
Campus Life :
The campus in itself isn't very big. It is a single building but pretty functional and well equipped. There is a library that stocks books. There are 3 classrooms big enough to hold about 50 students which is normally the class strength. The basement has a cafeteria and some recreational amenities such as a pool table, a foosball table, a carrom table, etc. The topmost floor houses an auditorium meant for events and large gatherings. The Institution has a self-elected student body that concerns itself with student affairs and the creation and maintenance of student clubs and the activities held therein. The clubs all organize extracurricular activities regularly ranging from sports to academic competitions.
