Remarks :
The college is very good as there is only a limited college in India that provides good cyber security programs and placement for it and IIIT Kottayam is one of them. I choose IIIT Kottayam as the college has good placement packages and B.Tech is the flagship course of the college. After clearing the JEE mains I applied for the college and took part in the JOSAA counselling and I was able to secure a seat in IIIT Kottayam.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum of the college was recently updated for cyber security programs as the technology has changed a lot and new techniques of a security breach are emerging and new types of cybercrime are coming into existence. So to keep us updated the college regularly updates its curriculum. The faculty of the college is also very good and they are of PhD standards with good research experience. The faculty is the one that introduces us to the latest technological changes and how cyber crime is evolving and what kinds of precautions and techniques can be taken to prevent it. The faculty of the college is very cooperative and they are experts in their respective fields.
Internships Opportunities :
The college internship is optional but most of my batchmates took part in the internship as the college committee help us to select good companies for internship and around 75+ companies visited our campus for internship. The stipend of the internship also ranges from company to company but it usually starts from 25k to 95k.
Placement Experience :
The college has made its name in the field of placement and the college can easily compete with top colleges in terms of placement. The college has a record of 100% placement. The college placement committee is full of professionals and the members of the placement committee properly understand our interest and domain so they invite the companies according to it. They also help us in the college placement rounds so that we are placed. The highest package was around 31 LPA and the average package was 12 LPA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Scholarship on a merit basis is available and the college also provides scholarships to SC/ST/PWD. An education loan facility is also available and the college admission staff properly cooperate during the loan process. Campus Life :
College life is good. The college provides an adequate environment for studies. The college annual fest is DHRUVA which we eagerly wait for. The college library is the house of many bestsellers authors and many academic books are also available. The college library also has many international journals which are very useful during our assignments.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel has good facilities. The wardens and the staff are professional and very cooperative. The hotel rooms are cleaned 5 times a week. The bathrooms of the hostel are properly sanitized. The hotel has 24 hours of power and water supply. The hostel campus also has high-speed internet connectivity. The hostel security is very good 24-hour security. The hostel has all types of facilities and amenities as per our comfort.
