APC college Review

Remarks :

The eligibility of this course is that you have to pass a higher secondary exam with a minimum of 50% marks. Both science and arts stream students can apply for journalism in graduation. Our college does not take any entrance exams. So the complete process is merit-based. The more marks you get in the hs the higher chance of getting selected here. The admission form is on our website and the admission process is online. After you fill up the form the college will publish a merit list based on HS marks and if you get the chance to be on the list you pay the admission fee which is Rs 5400. Then they will call up for offline document verification. Yes there is reservation seats available for minority students

Course Curriculum Overview :

I wanted to be a journalist. I have a great passion for this profession. So I took journalism as a subject in my college. We have a total of 45 students in our department and we have 5 professors. So the student-faculty ratio is very good. It's almost 9 students per one faculty. Our department is one of the top departments & very famous. Most of our professors are very helpful & polite. They have done M.Phil & P.hD. So they are very much knowledgeable. They have given practical knowledge for making us industry-ready so that we can take an internship and it is beneficial for higher studies. We have 6 semesters to pass. Every year we have to give two main exams.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

This college is a little bit costly compared to a government college. The admission fee was around Rs 5400. Then per year, the fee is around Rs 4000. So the total cost of studying here is between Rs 10,000-15000. You can apply for government scholarships named Swami Vivekananda Scholarships and if you are a girl like me you can apply for Kanyashree scholarships. You can apply for minority scholarships named OASIS along with SVMCM. And you can even go for many private scholarships like TATA, JINDAL, HDFC. After completing the course you may get placed in NEWS 18, ZEE NEWS, Khaskhabar & many other news agencies. The highest package you can get from campusing is 20k and the average package is between 12k-20k.

Campus Life :

Our college organizes many cultural programs all around the year. Saraswati Puja, Holi, Teacher's Day, and winter cultural programs are the best. Our college campus is very good. Our college infrastructure is far better than many other colleges. We have our campus complete wifi-zone and a very clean & green garden in front of the college. Our library room is very clean and air-conditioned. You can get all department's books there. It's very silent & peaceful. Our classroom is also large and very widely spaced. We have annual sports activity and it is very much fun. Students from all departments can join here. We have a hostel facility too

Placement Experience:

As being admitted during the time of pandemics, huge spikes in placements isn't visible although the college ensures 100 percent placement but i think its a hoax. The students performing average like about 6.5 cgpa are entitled to sit for the placement and media houses like ndtv, aaj tak are the companies to come as of my plan i intend to complete higher studies before sitting for a placement.

The college has a good name and receives awards from institutions such as times, but the education system is not good at all. Being a practical subject, we haven't been taken outside the classroom even once.
