Remarks :

College was excellent with great teachers, facilities, friends and labs. Always very helpful and wonderful with great knowledge.

Entrance Preview :

CAT - 70 percentile Could not get into a good college due to less marks. Getting into Somaiya was easy as it was a 2nd year when they did start the course.

Internships Opportunities :

We did not have any college internship program as the college had new computer science course started recently.We did work on a live project for a shop in Mulund for groceries.

Placement Experience :

None of the companies did come for placement as the college did not have facilities started at that time. We did try to manage to get interviews scheduled for Hewitt, Oracle, TCS and Wipro.

College Events :

We did have an event called Utkarsh organized and held for the first time by our college.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fees were around 12000 per year. It was reasonable as compared to the Engineering fee structure. Engineering fees was around 50000 for a paid seat and fairly very expensive for middle class students like me.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I did get loan from Tata group for about 10000 as our house income was very less and I was a bright student with good marks.

Campus Life :

Extracurricular activities were very good with lot of debates, programs being held in college. Labs were excellent and had wifi introduced for the first time with all new computers.

Hostel Facilities :

We did not opt for hostel as we were staying local. My place was in Thane and daily commute was around 1 hr. We had to commute every day by train to college.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes. We are in touch with students from our batch. Lot of them were very helpful and good as colleagues and shared cordial relation with each other.College seniors were the first ones to get out of the new computer science batch started by college. Most of the students are well settled and placed in good companies with good positions.

Exam Structure :

Exams and labs were frequent with lots of lab work. We were given lot of projects and programs to be completed as a part of the course.

Faculty :

Faculty was excellent and very helpful. Teachers always guided through different subjects, held extra classes and gave oppportunites to try new things.

Life at ramjas

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was more focused on analysis and algebra subjects which made this course a little theoretical but if that's the case with whole DU. Some subjects like financial mathematics, game theory, calculus made us being interested in the course till end.

All about somaiya.

Placement Experience:

For my course Masters in environment studies, A student is eligible for campus placements after 3 semesters, where the fourth semester is completely internship and sometimes students get job at the place they have internship and also they can explore on their own. Companies related to safety sustainability research offer internships.95% of students get internships and employments. In history, all the students got the job.

NMIMS For Science as well

Remarks:

over all this college looks very small but the facilities provided by them are at International level. A student from for example in mumbai University would not be able to provide international facilities. even a masters first year student here can perform electrophoresis and also visit reputed institutes.
