Remarks :

To be part of VIT Pune one must clear the GATE exam and must pass its graduation in B.Tech with 60% marks and followed by the PI round. The admission process of the college is very smooth and the staff is cooperative. I opted for the college because of its education standards and secondly, I got a scholarship where my 50% fees was exempted.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum of the college matches the latest industrial norms. The labs are equipped with the latest and high configuration machines and the latest software needed for teaching and research work. The curriculum is designed to impart quality and education and case study methods are used to develop problem-solving skills.

Internships Opportunities :

The internship choice totally depends on the students. If a student wants to opt for an internship the placement committee provides the student with the list of the companies that are available for internship and guide and help the student to get into those companies for internship programs. The stipend for internship ranges from Rs 12000/- to Rs 34000/-. Students who are busy with their research work can continue with their research work they don't need to go for the internship program.

Placement Experience :

The placement record of the college is 100%. The placement committee is very helpful and supportive. Each and every member of the placement committee is very experienced and have industrial exposure and they work as a guiding force for students during the placement drive. During our time almost 175+ companies visited the campus. Companies like Mercedes Benz, Accenture, TATA Technologies, TATA Motors, Thermax, Deloitte, Cognizant, Infosys, ITC, Maruti visited our campus during the placement drive. The highest package went up to 28 LPA and the average package during the placement was 9 LPA.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There are more than 30+ scholarship programs available in the college. I also got the scholarship on a merit basis as I secured 95% in my B. Tech program and was able to qualify GATE with a good score. The college also provides scholarships for SC/ST/PD students. To know more about the scholarship program you can visit the college official website.

Campus Life :

The campus life of VIT Pune is very exciting. The college is quite popular for its fest: Melange and Vishwatatva are inter-college events where different colleges take part in the competition, Vishwakarandak is an inter-department event of the college. Classrooms are big and properly ventilated some classrooms are equipped with AC and some are not. The library is big and there are all types of books available around the world you can also get international journals.

Hostel Facilities :

Frankly speaking, I did opt for the hostel facility as there were many PG rooms available as the hostel is 4 km away from the main campus. As you can avail PG facility that ranges from Rs. 5000/- to Rs. 18000/- depending on your budget. According to my hostel friend they told me that hostel rooms are quite big and spacious all the basic amenities are available for students. The rooms are properly cleaned 4 times a week.

Faculty :

The faculty of the college are highly qualified. Most of the faculties are of PhD level. The faculty are friendly and helpful one can easily approach the faculty to clear their doubt and help you out without any kind of hesitance.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main reason I got admission in thermal engineering is that was my favorite subject in engineering, the faculties are good at their experience and help students with their knowledge as faculties are Ph.D. holders n some are pursuing Ph.D. All things like papers are conducted timely and it's moderate to difficult exams were sets for students to enhance their potential.

Placement Experience:

The placement of VNIT is very good. The average package for CS & IT students is 12LPA. But for core branches, the average package is quite low around 6LPA. Core branches MTech students rarely get placed in core fields. Most of them step into banking and IT companies. The highest package offered by banks is 12LPA, and by IT companies is 30LPA. My plan after getting this degree was to go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester itself. Students have to maintain over 60% to be eligible for placement for most companies. However students with less percentage will get placement opportunities, it will be fewer. Overall, 80% of students approximately got placed and could be better. Maybe affected due to the Pandemic in India. The highest salary touched was 10 lakhs while the average was 3.5 lakhs per annum. MNCs like TCS, L&T, Capgemini, Jio visited the campuses and offered over 200 offers combined. I will be pursuing a Masters further after a couple of years of job experience.
