Bethune College's Psychology department gives the students a proper guide to fight against the increasing psychological issues of modern virtual world. Admission for the postgraduate course in Applied Psychology demands graduate degree in Psychology subject. Minor category students get the mark concession from the college. Admission is strictly done on the basis of merit.

Course Curriculum Overview :

During the two years course Research Methodology, Cognitive Psychology, Statistics etc are taught as subjects. Field work starts from the 1st semester. Communication skill, Behavioral Science, Psychopathology etc are learned by the students.

Placement Experience :

Average salary package offered was Rs 4.5 LPA and the highest package goes with Rs 9.7 lacs per annum. Around 70% of final year students get placement from the past year. TCS, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Wipro are top recruiting companies of the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Bethune College is one of the prestigious colleges of Kolkata. It offers different kinds of scholarships with the fee of Rs 2000 per semester. Students can apply for SVMCM Scholarship, NSP Scholarship, Kanyashree Scholarship, Oikasree Scholarship. Mainly the scholarships are provided for meritorious students. The college gives financial support by reducing the fee of daily transport cost for poor students.

Campus Life :

Different seminars are held throughout the year. Students get enough information from the institute's well database library. Facilities like auditorium, cafeteria, sports place etc are found in the campus. The campus is ragging and pollution free.

Good Placements

Placement Experience:

We become eligible from the later part of the third year to sit for the placements as the companies arrive then. Mainly placements are dependent on service-based companies like TCS, CTS, Wipro e.t.c. who mass recruits a whole lot of students with standard 3.5 to 4 LPA packages. Product-based companies like Oracle, Amazon, and trilogy too visited the campus. Oracle recruited a few of the candidates, Amazon too but nobody could clear the trilogy's OA rounds. Oracle offered a package of 15lpa and Amazon around 22 LPA. But a lot of students applied off campus and the highest placement off campus was 72 LPA in Google. The placement percentage is nearly 100% which is mainly due to the fact of service-based companies. I too am interested in IT jobs so am preparing for the same.

Seeing stcet again through my eyes

Placement Experience:

Students from the 4th-year 7th semester onwards become eligible for all sorts of campus recruitments. Cognizant technology solutions are the principal recruiter. Other companies which used to come during this time include Infosys, Odesha technologies, itc infotech, and others. All these companies generally take many students from our campus. During our time around 88% of students got selected from our batch. Out of which many students got double job offers from cognizant and Infosys. Some got job offers in sonodyne, Vodafone, and other companies. The highest package was offered by cognizant which was about 6 lakhs per annum. An average package of 3.5 lakhs per annum was offered by Infosys followed by itc infotech which offered roughly 4 lakhs per annum. After getting the degree I will pursue Ms maybe or maybe I can opt for MBA too. Also, I can sit for ies exam. Let's see what happens.
