Pravalika's Review On Rajalakshmi Institute Of Technology - [RIT], Chennai

Entrance Preview :

I had entered this college with the help of Tamil nadu state board 12 marks and I had not appeared for any particular entrance exam to secure an admission. I had scored 89.9 percentage in my 12 which could get me an admission in Rajalakshmi Institute Of Technology.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course which I had taken is computer science and engineering. This course deals with all the technological development that can be done to machines with the help of codings which can replace the human manpower. This course proves to be a backbone for all the coding and real world information and technology sector.

Internships Opportunities :

Internships are not provided with the college. Maybe on pre request such options can be availed. If availed this college can turn out to be a good atmosphere to take an internship with.

Placement Experience :

Placement in Rajalakshmi is good. Betterment is being done. Every step for the betterment is being taken. The placement officer makes sure we are well imparted with the industrial knowledge too spray from the book knowledge so as to cover the distance between industrial and campus knowledge.

College Events :

Our culturals and sports day is celebrated in a good manner and is awaited by the students of the institution. Technical events like symposiums are conducted but the symposiums are limited to within the college level. Every year we have one culturals n sports day which often are on two continuous days.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I'm not aware of the loan facilities that are available in the college but can be known if the student gets into contact with the management of the college.

Campus Life :

Campus is a good atmosphere for a student to prove learning meets education. There is no racism in Rajalakshmi and everyone have their own right to follow their religion. Students are continuously supported and encouraged to take part in the workshops and competitions that take place both in intra and inter college level.

Exam Structure :

Regular exams and tests are conducted to test the individual. Strict action would be taken on the defaulters. This provides a method for regular learning than rot learning a day before exam. The academic is strengthened due to the tests that are conducted by the college.

Admission :

I had secured 89.9 percentage in my 12 standard which wasn't sufficient for me to enter this college since forward caste had a greater demand. So I had to enter through the management quota but in this no capitation fee was taken. I had approached the Rajalakshmi office which was located in New Avadi road in Chennai and got in touch with them which could help me secure a seat in this college.

Faculty :

Computer science and engineering department was placed the best department of the year in my college for this year and has the capability to continue to be one. All the staff are very potential and talented and handle students in such a way that they are exposed to knowledge more than their books. The be well prepared and give a very lively atmosphere in the classes.

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
