Remarks :

I chose this college since it was going to be autonomous in a few years which it got while I was in final year of my engineering. This College had a good name in campus placement which is considered a very essential factor while selecting engineering colleges. Admission process is done through CAP round. One of the other reason was also this college is a Hindu minority college.

Course Curriculum Overview :

A few faculties were Ph. D holders while the rest had done their masters. Lectures were conducted via digital medium using Posts in classroom. Practicals were conducted in a very efficient and crisp way. Revision classes/practicals were also conducted during the term end. Usually in a class, during a lecture a faculty would handle around 60-70 students and other than that a faculty was assigned to the batch of 20 students as the mentor. Term exams were conducted on time and enough time was granted to prepare for it along with completing syllabus on time. However there were a few faculties who could not complete their syllabus on time.

Internships Opportunities :

Internships are offered uptil sem 6 in reputed firms like doordarshan, Jio, Nair Hospital, Science kids and many more. Usually the internships are unpaid. Training and placement cell works rigorously to get the internship opportunities for us in the roles very similar which is going to be offered to the students of their respective fields.

Placement Experience :

Students can start preparing for placement from sem 6 and start appearing for interviews from sem 7. The companies which usually visit campus are TCS, Capgemini, Oracle, Infosys, Accenture, Just dial, Zycus and many more. Average package offered is anywhere between 3.5-4.5L. Oracle recruits top quality and less students and offers them around 6.5L as the starting package. The jobs mostly offered by these companies are of IT/COMS profile rather than core profile when it comes to other fields. Percentage of students placed is highest in IT/COMS above 90% where as in EXTC/ETRX 65-70% students get placed. Percentage is quite lower when it comes to MECH/CIVIL students. I was Training and Placement coordinator of my department, thus I am so much thorough with the placement process. I am going for Masters in Canada Post my Engineering.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee is of the same range as other colleges and being an autonomous institution, it can't be complained that TCET's fee is higher. Students who have income proof or fall under TFWS (Tution Fee Waiver Scheme) can avail huge benefits. Other than that, there are also scholarships where students can take part time tution while they are studying. A lot of companies take part in campus drives and hire majority of the students from COMS, IT, EXTC and Electronics department. Campus placement in MECH and CIVIL branch is poor which is a case in every other college since the opportunities are scarce.

Campus Life :

TCET used to conduct 2 annual fest and a international conference throughout the academic year. Technical fest ZEPHYR is conducted in the month of September while cultural event SOJOURN is conducted in March and the conference MULTICON is conducted in February. Classrooms are well equipped with air conditions, smart monitor, projector, comfortable benches. To avail the facility of library, one had to make a library card and could find any book. There is also a intracollege Sports event called 'T-SPARK' in the month of January. Thakur has a huge ground and campus where students can carry out their sports activities. There is EWT (Extension Work Team), NSS, Rotaract Club which students can join and contribute towards social welfare. Other than these, students can play indoor sports like carrom, table tennis, etc. and can chill in and around canteen area.

Hostel Facilities :

I didn't stay in hostel. But I had few friends who used to reside in hostel and as far as I know the reservation of the room must be done before the semester starts or else it gets difficult to avail a room after semester commences.

Admission :

No. Admissions are done only on the basis of previous academic records. There is no interview or group discussion conducted for admission. Interview/GD rounds are done when the companies come for campus placement.
