Remarks :
I was excited and when i entered the college there was this big line was very much impatient but had a really great experience and feeling i was from general had no quota for admission you have to have a medical certificate, anti-ragging affidavit, birth certificate, class 10 marksheet, jexpo ranking and 2000 and the first-semester course fees which are 300 for any west Bengal government polytechnic college. If anyone wants to join after ITI they have to appear on VOCLET exam. The basic criteria for taking admission are to hold a good rank and minimum 45 & marks in science in class 10th exam.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose mechanical engineering because this is the mother trade and a lot of branches i will have in B-tech if i want to choose like Metallurgy, Production, Robotics, Industrial Engineering etc. Machines - especially Hydraulic and Pneumatic machines are my love, they serve the industry with great efficiemcy and precession. If anyone loves to work in Power plant they are also welcomne in this trade because after completion of Diploma they have chance to take admission on NPTI. Student Faculty ratio was moderate. But all faculties are highly qualified and having Minimum M-Tech degree some have PhD. Term exams held everywhere at the same time as all the polytechnic colleges are under the same board but the internal exams used to held according to the College you have taken admission. It was not that tough to clear examination if u have been regular to the class and have taken all the notes by the teacher. They were very helpful and informative in clearing every semester with good marks
Placement Experience :
Well i was from my 3 rd semester pretty much made up in my mind that i want to pursue btech. So i didn't gave it a thought to pursue for job through placement done by our college. But as far as i know we didn't had that much placement because of the covid and on a average note we always have good placements happening. Many got placed in L & T, Jindal, TATA Steel , Tata metaliks, CEAT Tires, ITC and other small companies near Howrah. Except ITC other company offers average 8000/month salary that is pretty low. But ITC offers 25000/month but only two candidates got selected there. If you who is reading my review wants to be part of HIT and wants to get a job through Campus Placement after 5th sem you have to maintain a 75% attendance minimum and 7.5 CGPA average and have clear basic knowledge. But please mind it that everything depends on Market demand and Market situation after this Pandemic situation.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Well i didn't took any scholarships or financial assistance as it was government polytechnic so the semester fees was pretty less and we didn't need to get one. I had taken the railway concession as i had to travel by train to regularly attend the college. As i was going to get into btech program so i didn't listed my name in the campus. But as far as i know campusplacement was pretty good.
Campus Life :
Well, we enjoyed all the time. The campus is big. we have our own ground where we used to hang out and play cricket. We have the green room where music and many more artistic things take place and feel free to participate. All kinds of social and cultural programs arranged by college like Fest, Tech Fest etc. The classrooms are nice. Lab and workshop are well equipped and the trainers are also good. Semester books are provided by the book bank. They have a digital library facility nowadays.
