Entrance Preview :
I got through COMEDK my rank was 7000. I had to select from many colleges. I selected KVG dental college as it was nearer to my hometown than other options. I always wanted to become a dentist hence I chose the course over others. Admission process had three rounds and i had the option to change the college if I changed my mind.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, the college provides stipend which very less compared to other colleges. Its just 1,200 per month. Overall experience is good. There are lot of co curricular activities during the year. There are CDE programs and also interested students can take up on research.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure for the course was 2.3 lakhs per year for 4 years... Total fee comes upto 10 lakhs.. it can be paid in installments every year.. it is quite expensive but for a professional course it is not much... It doesn't include mess fee and accommodation
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Loan facility can be availed at the bank where we have a account. I availed a yearly loan of 80,000 from a nationalised Banks. There are a lot of scholarships according to the marks. Scholarships are not associated with college but college provides the required documents.
Alumni/Alumna :
As alumnus experience I great there are lot of networks and groups of ex students where we share about dental cases. The groups are also a great opportunity to find out about vacancies.
Exam Structure :
Exams are very stressful. Every year has 3 internal exam and every year has a final exam at the end. Every exam consists of viva and theory passing of 2 out of internals is must. There are improvement exams for students who have a poor performance.
Admission :
I applied for COMEDK by procuring a form from their website. After writing the exam and the exam was announced I had to go to Bangalore to choose my preferred course and college. There are preferences for a particular caste and minority so it's a must to carry the caste and minority certificate if you want to get through in a particular category. The whole admission had three rounds.
