Entrance Preview :
I took MPPET, securing 9511 state rank. I opted for Computer science Engineering programme. The counselling procedure was online where candidate has to fill the list of his preferred colleges with their respective programmes with their priority. I got my preferred branch in the first round of counselling itself.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is decided by the University, which was RGPV in our case. The courses were to the mark and were kept considering in mind the knowledge an engineer should have during his graduation. There were almost 50 % of practical subjects in each semester. We had a total of 8 semesters. College had a decent Lab Setup.
Internships Opportunities :
No, my college didn't provide any internship till the time I was there i.e 2014. We always desired to have an internship as it gives a good amount of exposure but the same wasn't provided by the college. We were supposed to get technical training during our third year, which can be said to be a kind of internship which we had to do on our own.
Placement Experience :
The placement and Job opportunities are good enough. I was placed in the Day 1 company TCS and I am still working here as a system Engineer. I joined at the package of 3.18 lpa and the total students who were placed in this company were 26. There were other companies which came for the placements like I- Tech, Premier Biosoft, Indian Navy, Hexaware etc. These companies too people on an average of around 2.8 lpa.
College Events :
The very first event we had was a fresher's party. A good cultural fest where the students got comforted and introduced by their seniors. Every year, their used to be a technical fest we named it BIOS sometimes , Technisia and so on. The technical event used to have a lot of technical quizes, events that used to encourage the students towards the technological development.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
My fees for an year used to be around 71 thousand. This included everything from transportation to university fees. The fees was feasible as the college was private and the private colleges charged around it. The college and university also provided scholarship to a lot of SC/ST category students. I however belong to general category but many of my friends had this facility available for them.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
No loan facility, but the scholarship facility was given to the SC/ST candidates which used to come from the university. Almost half of the annual fees of the candidates of these category used to be waved off. I have seen my friends availing the same.
Campus Life :
Campus life was good. Good friends always made it better. The gender ratio was almost 1:1 an equal number of guys equivalent to girls. The diversity was good. We even had a few guys coming from Delhi, UP, Bihar, kerala etc in our batch. It was a good experience studying with people from diverse groups.
Alumni/Alumna :
The Alumni network is very poor. The students are connected on their own with each other. My experience with the seniors have been good, but all that has been my personal thing. A few of them connected. Their is no such forum that keeps us connected officially. We are just connected based on our friendship.
Exam Structure :
The exams used to be on a moderate friequency. Two midsems before every semester exam. These mid semester exams and practicals used ti give us an insight on how well we were doing on our preparation part. It was in a way chilled out in a way that it could very well fulfil its purpose of bracing us fir the semester exam to come.
Admission :
The Admission procedure was simple and online. It was the first time that the procedure went online in 2014. As soon as the results were declared, the date window for counselling registration was given and conveyed through the website and MP Online kiosks. Once registered with a payable amount, the candidate becomes eligible for appearing in the counselling.
Faculty :
Faculty has been very sincere for the first two years of the college and so were the students. The teachers were found very qualified for the first two years. Willing to teach, good with the concepts and the idea of teaching and energetic. As the time passes, it appeared that both the students and the teachers lose their interest in studying the courses. Its moderate later from both ends.
