Entrance Preview :
Bihar combined entrance competitive examination (BCECE exam) , scored 167 rank, this is the best college in all of Jharkhand and bihar.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is as per the AICTE approved one. There are 8 semesters and subject wise electives and credits. To pass, one must score well in both internal and external examinations. There are laboratories for all departments and required equipment. There are separate sessions for labs and separate exams. One needs to score well in them too.
Internships Opportunities :
The college does not provide internship directly. It writes to several government organisations which have a heavy alumni base and thus non paid internship is arranged for the students. Though no stipend is paid, working with huge PSUs provides good experience to the students.
Placement Experience :
The placement scenario during the year 2010-11 was good. Software and core companies visited the campus separately and around 85% of the students were placed. The package was around 4Lpa for most of them while the highest package was offered by Tata steel of about 10Lpa. Though these figures don't matter much because the students from this college always look for opportunities.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is extremely affordable and lower than almost all the colleges in India. There is one time admission fee of 3000/- and annual fee of 12000/- for first year, then annual fee of 2 9000/- for rest 3 years. Additionally there is 3000/- annual fee for hostels , as the college is fully residential and exam fee of 2500/- in every semester. The total fee of four years including hostel fee comes out to be around 80000/-.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There was scholarship for scheduled tribe candidates but none for general categories. But since the fee structure was so affordable, no one felt the need for loans or scholarships.
Exam Structure :
Some days were very hectic while others were totally chilled out. The curriculum was designed in a hectic way, but cooperation and understanding between the students made it absolutely an enjoyable experience. First half consisted of theory classes while the second half had labs.
Admission :
Filled the form in February , the exam was conducted in two stages preliminary test of objective type and mains of subjective nature. Declaration of results was followed by counselling according to ranks and then allotment of branches. The admission took place in August, in the college campus and classes started immediately after that.
Faculty :
The faculty is generally good and well learned. Except for some teachers who have been selected through reservations, since it's a government college and thus are very below standard. But most of them are fine and from good institutions. They cooperate with you and let you learn in a free environment.
