Virtual College Life Review

Remarks :

I applied for all NLU's and private universities like Christ and Jindal but as the CLAT Exam was postponed to a later date couldn't materialize on joining these colleges. The admission to KPMSOL was through NLAT. The college takes admission through LSAT and CLAT scores as well.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I particularly was interested in the BA program because the subjects intrigued me. Though I did apply for the BBA program after the results came out I was assigned both so had an option. The faculties here are really approachable and have a plethora of knowledge. There are 2 sems each year. With the covid pandemic, we had term-end examinations in the form of research papers. So in all per sem, we wrote 16 research papers.

Internships Opportunities :

I don't have enough or requisite information on what are the opportunities laid down and the opportunities which give stipends. The virtual world has made these things difficult to understand. The placement cell does send out some emails in the inbox about the internship offers at various firms and under some lawyers.

Placement Experience :

The campus placements this year have been pretty decent. A student presently is an associate as CYRIL AMARCHANDAS. I am yet in the second year so the plans of specialization and other things would be based on my further internships and the courses taught over the semsters.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees for the first year were around 2 lacs for the BA program. I haven't yet availed an internship from the placement cell. But my colleagues and other seniors did get some opportunities at the supreme court of India to intern under some advocates.

Campus Life :

The social life is pretty decent. The college hosts an annual fest themed MERAKI which has had guests like sara ali khan and karthik aryana and also singers like anuv jain. The library is limited and more resources are indeed needed. The campus has the PARAKRAM fest for sports and also hosts SOL Olympics. There are other comms like Debsoc and law review comm which has an NMIMS Law review journal and blog under it.

Placement Experience:

Placements of the college are okay. Not very high and not very low, it is at a good point which can be improved and be higher. From 3rd year the college provides for internship opportunities in many big law firms. The avg package may be around 6-8 lakhs and the highest may be around 15-17 lakhs but it fluctuates every year. Companies like ELP, SAM, trilegal, Cyril amarchand mangaldas,AZB patners, etc have offered packages to many students. There is no exact data available for exact % of students placed or offered made. I plan to go in litigation after my degree.

Placement Experience:

Last year last semester students were eligible for the campus placement program. So many companies are visited in College like Mahindra. HDFC bank. And local companies. Also, the opportunity to practice in local city court for under senior advocate. Offer is like a legal advisor. etc. The average package is like 2 to 6 lakhs per year. And the highest is 8 lakhs. 40 to 45 percent of students get placement. My plan after degree I chose to practice under a senior advocate.

Placement Experience:

The college is known for campus placements in every sector especially corporate and practices at the Hon'ble High Courts and the apex Supreme Court of India. Many also opt for going into the judiciary and become High Courts and Supreme Judges. Many legal luminaries and stalwarts including former Chief Justice of India Y.V. Chandrachud and late Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh are an alumnus of the college. The companies usually come for recruitment in the final year of the course i.e, the 3rd year or the sixth semester to be eligible for placements. The college also provides pre-placement training. Law students are not recruited to placements, they enhance their skills participating in national and international moot courts, arbitration and mediation competitions across the globe. Various law firms which visit are Khaitan and Co., Mindtree, Mulla and Craig and many other reputed organizations. The highest placement is around 13 LPA. 70% placements.
