Life at BMSIT

Remarks :

I only applied for BMSIT and rnsit college. I belong to the ST category so, I had that benefit. BMSIT is considered a top college so they expect very good ranked students in their college, if you want to get into this college as a general category from kcet for computer science then you must have a rank below 4000 or so. The admission process was pretty much smooth when I opted the college the people at counseling asked me to pay 50000 in advance, and after that my seat was reserved, and they gave me some document which I showed it in my college, later on, the management team at my college assigned me to a staff who collected my original documents and took info for the Id card.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Computer science is an ongoing trending course I should say, due to a lot of pressure from my elders I could not choose civil which I was planning to but instead I had to join CSE. Talking about faculty there are a good number of friendly teachers, they are ready to help you at any point of time, academically they are good and educated. There are several PhDs in our college, many have good methods of teaching, but few new teachers have come they need to be better but I think is this a new experience for them so they might be nervous. After the end of each sem that is 3 months or so we had a semester exam If you ask me the exams are moderate difficulty level but the vtu's correction system is not that appreciable and this was a drawback back then but now BMSIT doesn't come under vtu so it's a good thing for the new people joining.

Internships Opportunities :

Not much idea about this matter, I managed to get an internship outside the campus so that doesn't come under college internships. But college actually provides internships, am sure it's good. PBLS are a must for every semester students, and I managed to do one or two as they expected from us every semester.

Placement Experience :

6th-semester companies started coming. In general, many companies visit, few are Amazon, cloudera, juspay, accolite, Wipro. Last year's highest package was 22 lakhs. They say 100 percent, and it doesn't mean everyone is getting placed, candidates who are eligible most of them get placed if you want a no. I would say 85 percent or more. I am planning to sit for placements currently, and I also have thoughts about doing an MBA.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Being a student from comedk entrance, my fees was around 220000, and later on books, uniform (lab) everything else can be purchased under 4000 I guess. I didn't get any scholarship, so I am unaware of those benefits, and for me, placements are currently going on.

Campus Life :

Many tech fests are conducted often, many hackathons are also conducted. The biggest fest is Uthsaha, to be honest comparatively other college's conduct better fests than our college. The library is very good it has adequate books. Classrooms are also very nice, the ventilation and the natural light are very good, it doesn't feel like a closed place because of the big windows which let inadequate light. Our college has teams in cricket, football, and volleyball, and in several single games, they are given opportunities to participate in various competitions. We have many clubs I don't have much idea, I am in the photography club, it's good.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to get placements from their 6th to 7th semester as whatever basic is needed by them to a company is embedded into them. Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Cisco, and many other companies visit our college and make many offers. The highest package in my course was 47 L.P.A previous year and average is 7 to 8 L.P.A. Almost all students get placed in our branch almost every year. I just wanna do a start-up after completion of my course and getting my degree.
