Remarks

I had applied to many universities such as Christ University, Ashoka University, and Ambedkar University as I was intent on pursuing psychology. I couldn't get through the first interview round at Ashoka University. At Christ University, I passed the first round which was done through sending recordings of me speaking on three different topics. I also passed the round for Ambedkar University. I had initially applied to these colleges as a backup plan if my 12th percentage wasn't up to the mark. However, I had scored 96.5% which made me eligible for Keshav Mahavaidyala College. I wanted to apply to Dehli University as it was affordable and it had a great reputation. I also read reviews about my college which were largely positive about the college having good facilities, placement opportunities, and a huge emphasis on extracurricular activities and character development.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I always had an interest in pursuing psychology and I had chosen the Humanities stream for the 11th and 12th standards. I wanted to pursue this course as it provided a really good understanding of the basic concepts which will be helpful in deciding the areas that I want to specialize in after graduation. Our faculty is highly specialized in their respective fields and are brilliant teachers. They teach using the coursebook as well as providing extensive knowledge and understanding through films and videos on the topics. They also grade us by assignments, attendance, and class presentations. There was some difficulty in conducting exams as the schedule was shifted because of the pandemic but the exams were conducted successfully. They were fairly easy to pass.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

There are many internships opportunities given to us by the placement cell of our college. The internships are unpaid but they provide a great working experience. We also have a Student Community Group that provides us Internship Opportunities.

Placement Experience

2.5

There is a great placement cell in our college where the staff is incredibly kind and considerate. They do the best they can to help us find great colleges to pursue post-graduation options. There is not a lot of scope for a job placement alone.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure of the BA Hons Psychology Course is 9.336 rupees per anum which are very affordable. There are concessions for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes and Economically Weaker Sections. I am currently pursuing the course but we do have a great placement department that also offers internships in great companies and are very helpful while considering post-graduation options.

Campus Life

3.5

Because of the pandemic, we are currently studying online but there are annual fests and tech fests held. Keshav Mahavidyala College has ten students societies: Advaitaa ( dance), Illuminati ( Photography ), Maniera ( Fine Arts), Naksh ( fashion ), Nrityaang ( Indian Dance ), Shades ( theatre), Spic macay, Vagmita ( Poetry), Vagmita ( Debate). It also has the Rotaract Club of Ingenious Minds.

Other Applied Colleges

Amedkar University | BA Hons Psychology

I didn't opt for this college as the course was too expensive and DU has a lasting reputation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

There's a very active placement cell in my college. They conduct placement drives, webinars and workshops. Both the jobs and internships are offered. The best package was of 2024 offering 23 Lpa and the average is around 6 Lpa.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. The exam notes and everything is available at the photocopy shop that's inside the college. Writing this review really made me miss the college more

Placements definitely stands out as passive placement cell of the college is too good. They are quite aggressive and keep attacking us with getting ready for placements. As top corporate house like Big 4 and top Indian conglomerate also comes to our college for placements.

Initially i took this course beacuse i filled it as a backup for coming into delhi university but now i can say that the course is very interesting and it is practically applicable in daily life. Tho the theory exams are quite difficult and subjects like advance mme where max students fail exist but then also it is doable and has market value

Placement Experience:

The college has a placement cell which comes up with lots and lots of internship and job offers throughout the year, you get multiple new job opportunities every week but the campus placement is not all that great, B Com courses have somewhat decent placements. the college doesn't push very much or try much to get students placed, you're on your own.

Placement Experience:

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.
