Entrance Preview :
The entrance exam is named as BVP CET 2010. I had multiple options but I selected Bharati Vidyapeeth only because of the the practical knowledge it provides to its students. The University itself has a huge campus with diverse courses and each of them well renowned. The cherry on the cake was its location in the India's best city- PUNE. All these factors made me choose this particular college in the amazing City it is in.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is well defined and very helpful for the personal and professional development of the student. The electives for each department differ. I can advise you about Civil Engineering. The Electives include Geo technical Engineering, Construction Management, Survey Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Structural Engineering, Highway and Railway Engineer and many more.
Internships Opportunities :
An internship is mandatory in the third year of engineering. But the college provides very little help for the same. The student must have his own contacts or I must say "Jugad".
Placement Experience :
The placement record was good with my batch. As around 100 companies visited the campus, namely- TCS, Zensar, Atos, Yodlee, Tata Capital, Overseas Infrastructure Alliance, Suzlon, Shobha Developers, Trident, Searce and many more. The average package was 4lpa. The highest being 9lpa (Trident) and the lowest being 2lpa (searce).
College Events :
"Bharatiyam"- The University's Cultural Fest. I must say the best part of the whole year is the time of Bharatiyam. Students get to learn on how to approach big firms to obtain sponsorship. Trust me, you learn the most in this phase as you get to know how to persuade people to take out their money and place it in the hands of a student. The creative group gets to learn all the new software for designing.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is quite expensive. For my batch 2010-14, I paid INR 90,000/- per year as tuition fees, rest accommodation and everything cost me around 50k per year. So all in all 1.5 lacs per year is the expense for a normal student. But if you are a child you likes to party a lot and hops into clubs every alternate day then this 1.5 can go upto 2 lpa.
Exam Structure :
Both the exam days and the exams were very hectic. A thorough study was definitely required to secure a good percentage. The labs were a bit hectic too. Overall the study is very detailed and hectic. But Pune being the best city made it feel chilled out as well.
Admission :
Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University College of Engineering conducts an examination, BVP-CET at all india level. Once the results are declared, students are called upon for counselling sessions. Students based on their rankings opt for their desired departments. After a week the classes commence.
Faculty :
The Faculty is a bit biased towards the local students. But some teachers are very helping and make you feel at ease. The medium of education is English and each student can well understand what is taught in the class. If I were to rate the faculty on a scale of 10, I would give it a 7.
