Remarks :

The admission to my college is based on the WBJEE examinations. You need to be a class 12 pass out to appear for the exams. Since it is a government college and undoubtedly the second-best college after Jadavpur University, the cutoffs are really high. In my branch after the 3 counseling rounds, the cutoff rank went to approx. 2500. For CSE you ought to have a rank below 300. There are generally 2 spot counsellings taking place after the centralized 3 rounds IF AND ONLY IF there are any seats empty for a particular branch.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The faculty members are highly qualified IIT pass outs with numerous research papers and have an in-depth knowledge of subjects. It depends on students how they like the professors. The question papers are a bit harder and concept-based than other Universities but it again depends on students how they would score. CGPA given is not very low as told by others. Students get a decent CGPA of more than 7.5 to 8.

Class Size : 25Course Fees : INR 8000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Plenty of internships available just after the 1st year. ONGC IOCL DRDO and many other renowned companies give internships to the students and help in shaping the career. The stipend is also decent. People do target GATE and clear with good marks.

Placement Experience :

Campus placements are good in our branch with an average CTC of 6.84 lakhs. Companies like Haldia Petro, Indian Oil

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Our college has an extremely low fees structure of just 35000 rs. There are lots of scholarships opportunities. Placement is pretty decent at least in our branch with most students getting jobs. Fees is a standout point for our college.

Campus Life :

The campus is average. Rajabazar Science college is the campus for ECE, EE, CE, IE,PST,CT branches whereas the Salt Lake technology campus is for CSE ,IT and OOE. RSc campus is an old vintage looking british archi style building with excellent lab facilities but aground. It has a Gym. The library is huge and there is a Coding club.

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

Overall only one thing is important is about hardwork with smart work . You have to work on your skills rest college is there to help you to show the path from your college to carrier .

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

Remarks:

College was good in terms of studies and many more. But now it fails in giving placement. Most of the students are still unemployed. Only 30% of the students are placed from college. Others have to find there own jobs.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
