Remarks :

For the admission first I had to clear the entrance exam on the basis of the rank and some percentage of the graduation, 12th and 10th marks the final list was generated. The one who was able to make it in the top 50 list was called for counseling.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because my aim was to secure a job in the IT sector. The faculty at Punjab University is quite good. The exams level was also good as they include both practical and written. Also, we had the 2MST's before the semester exams that had some weightage on the final score.

Class Size : 50Course Fees : INR 90000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

In the last semester, we had our placement drives and if one is able to crack the interview then he is eligible for the 6 month internship period for that company then based on the performance one would be able to become a full-time employee.

Placement Experience :

In the last semester, the placement drives are scheduled where the students themselves form the committee and reach out to the companies for the placement drives. The alumni also help out with the drives. Though the chances of campus placement are almost 97% the package is very low ranging between 2lakhs to 8 lakhs. The average is just 2.5lakhs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The one who scores the higher rank had the opportunity to join the morning batch whose fee structure was very low while the one for the evening batch was self-financing so the fee structure was comparatively high.

Campus Life :

There are many fest and tech fest that is conducted over the year in the university. But for the computer science department, they had their owned tech fest conducted every year. University has its own library Ac Joshi library. Extracurricular activities are also there like during the fest there were many games. Extracurricular activities were held throughout the year.

Hostel Facilities :

For the hostel, the top rankers are eligible first or if you have some quota. Based on the rank the hostel seats are allocated. But all in all, hostels are great as the food is very affordable and the department is also at walking distance so it saves traveling costs too.

Review for MCA in PU

Placement Experience:

The placement process is began and ended only in third semester as forth semester is for internship. Mostly the companies from tricity visits here like edifecs, chicmic, inno8 etc. MCA students from PU Chandigarh, regional center (Hoshiarpur and Muktsar) students and MSC students sit together for the placements. The highest package from last year was 17 LPA and this year till date is 7.25 LPA. Average package is 4LPA.

Placement Experience:

Chandigarh university offers remarkable campus placements opportunities to its students. If you are in MCA, you are eligible for campus placements right from the starting of the second semester. There are a good number of companies that visit the campus including Microsoft, oracle, samsung, Airtel, TCS, Infosys, Bank of America, federal bank and many more. The highest package offered to the student of our department was of 14 LPA by federal bank, followed by bank of America which offered an annual package of 10LPA. 50% of the students got placed and the remaining went for higher education. After completing the course, students can also apply for services in government sector.

Placement Experience:

There were ample opportunities given to students but thats upto students how well they are performing in interviews. Around 50% students got placed during my time with avg ctc of 4.5 lpa. Companies like deloitte,pwc, edifecs, amazon, flipkart were visiting the campus.

60-70% Of Students Get Placed Average Package Offered Is 4 Lakhs Per Year. Yes, It Was Between Moderate Too Difficult. But One Have To Prepare Nicely For The Placement And Give Our 100 % For Cracking Our Placement.
