Remarks :

It was a damn good experience for me. The facilities were quite good. The exposure that this college gave me was beyond my expectation. It was only after this college that I grew in confidence and started my own company. college management was also new bu

Entrance Preview :

SNAP - Entrance Test Score- 70+ (Cant Remember Exact no.) - SC Candidate I opted for SIMC coz I was quite interested in getting an MBA degree in something interesting (according to me) stream. Advertising fell into that category so I went for SIMC (now known as SSMC- Bangalore).

Course Curriculum Overview :

It was quite good, mainly divided into 4 semesters, usually of 4 month and 2 months for internships, after every semester. The academic course was also quite broad, evenly distributed and covering main aspects of the knowledge required for a communication management student.

Internships Opportunities :

Once again it was also well planned for the benefit of students. There were total of three internships during the span of 2 years PG course. First one was an NGO internship where each student had to work with a NGO for six weeks atleast. There was hardly any stipend during NGO internship. Second one was agency internship (whether Advertising or PR agency). Here stipend was decent enough (around 10k). Third one was optional corporate or agency internship. Stipend was again decent. All the internship were arranged by the Placement Cell.

Placement Experience :

Ours was first batch so placement were average at that time( 4 years back). The placement was 100% ( except who opted not to take a placement, including me), but the packages were average. But after four years most of my batch mates are doing very well in their career. Even I have launched my own brand of sportswear. Job opportunities were decent at that time and they got better with time (few juniors told me). At that time few companies that I can recall are are Big Cinemas, Zomatoes, O & M, JWT, Perfect Relations, etc

College Events :

It was quite a happening college (not like other boring MBA colleges where the only focus is studies and placements). It was a mix bag where studies were taken very seriously along with extra curricular activities. There were outbound programs, Fashion shows Cricket and basketball tournaments and many other activities happening every semester. It was lot of fun. One of our fest was featured on MTV.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It was average, comparing with other such institutes. Ours was 5,00,000/- for two years excluding hostel and mess.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

No, there was no such scholarship made available by the college or university. Though there were bank loans the college was offering, perhaps they were just because of the tie ups with the bank.

Campus Life :

They were awesome. As i mentioned above that there was a perfect mix of academic and extracurricular activities. Usually MBA colleges don't concentrate much on such activities, SIMC was an exception.Gender RatioGirls: Boys2:1Yes, there were few hostel parties as well, usually after any event or the victory celebrations. We won a cricket tournament, a fashion show, a basketball tournament which explains the level of participation and interest of college and students in extracurricular activities there.Work shops of photography, audio visual were the few ones that helped me a lot in learning the subjects. No, there was no such discrimination on the above mentioned parameters. I am a Dalit from North India and there are a lot of discrimination happening in this part of India but in my college in Bangalore I felt so comfortable that I stood in my class to announced about my caste. I was appreciated with a round of applause by the whole class and faculty present. So, the environment was quite good there.

Hostel Facilities :

As I mentioned mine was the pioneer batch so all the facilities were newly built and were very good. Rooms were neat and clean and daily cleaning (twice) was done. 24 hours hot and cold water was available. Most rooms were with two bed and few with three

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes, recently there is a lot happening on alumni meets and getting in touch with the alumni. Few of my batch mates are regularly visiting the college for guest lectures and even for placements.

Exam Structure :

There were internal exams after every couple of months of semester and then the external exams after every semester. There were regular projects and assignments every semester (infact every day there was one assignment or the other). That used to keep us

Faculty :

Mine was the pioneer batch of that SIMC Bangalore so most of the faculty was guest faculty and the guest faculty people were well known in their respective industries.

Just after the 2nd semester the placements start. Companies like Deloitte,PWC,EY,KPMG,Broadride,Storeking, trivago,My Captain,Indusland Bank, HDFC bank,Factset, Genpact,Cadbury,Manipal Hospitals and many more companies come for placement. The highest package in my opinion may be around 8.4 lpa and average would be around 5 lpa. The profile offered were mostly Finance analyst, Tax Consultant and marketing. Idk the exact percentage but mostly everyone gets a placement. I would join Deloitte after I receive my offer letter.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum from the university is transferred by the teachers in a digestive manner with all relevant example , live scenarios, case study activities and much more. The exams on average come after 3 months of a semester commencing , the difficulty towards the exam itself is moderate.

Placement Experience:

Placement Cell is very hardworking and they do provide placement support for all specializations but most of the jobs that are offered are marketing or customer support roles so it's always encouraged to look for job opportunities through other sources as well.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are excellent in Indus Business Academy. Alot of good companies come to the college for the placement and almost all the student get placed in a good company. iIf the student has payed attention in the classes and the tasks assigned then getting into a company is not difficult. The students start getting placed soon after the completion of first year. Compainies like Deloitte, KPMG, PWC, Colgate, Bata , GT and other good companies come to the college every year for the placements every year. The average package offered by the companies is 6.5 CGPA and it may increase this year. The student placement is 100%. I have also been selected in Deloitte for tax profile.
