Remarks :
I applied for LPU, as it was one of the best-famed universities in the country with a great agriculture faculty reputation. To get admission at LPU, I appeared in LPUNEST (LPU's entrance test) exam and cracked it successfully. I was also awarded a scholarship of 50%. After all this, I got a call from LPU about the course I want to take. LPUs main criteria to get admission is either you appeared for LPUNEST or we can take a direct admission (in this case we'll not get any scholarship). To get admission to a Master's course you must have secured at least 50% in your graduation. There was a registration fee of 5000 rupees for seat allotment after that I went to my state admission office and paid 1st sem fee. Then after reach to campus, I varified myself in the admission section of the university.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Plant pathology is one of the most important courses of agriculture in which we learn about chemicals, fertilizers, diseases management of plants, and other factors that causes an impact on crop production, and my personal interest was to work on mushrooms that's why I have chosen this course. Faculties in Plant pathology dept. are much educated and experienced in their respective field. 1:4 faculty: student ratio can be seen. All the faculties of the department are PhD holders with vast experience in research, paper publications, and teaching skills. Midterm and Endterm exams are always on time. After completion of 3 months, we'll face a midterm exam and after 2 more months, an end-term exam will be conducted.
Internships Opportunities :
Students hired from LPU mainly join companies as interns in which company and HR mainly decide their position and role. they can join as a matter specialist or trainee, sales manager, branch manager etc.
Placement Experience :
Final year students are eligible to get sit for a placement drive. many reputed companies like Syngenta, Bayer, ParleAgro, ninjacart, and many banks come here for placement. Various packages were offered for the students from various companies. almost in a range of 3-6lakh per annum packages are offered. Apart from this LPU also conduct special classes for students interested In higher education, which helps them to pursue their dream jobs.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
LPU likely to hike their fees every alternate year, like in 2019 M.Sc. Agriculture (all courses) fee was 70000/sem but in 2021 its become 120000/sem and 3000/sem examination fee. LPU also provides scholarships for meritorious students as per their scores either in LPUNEST or graduation marks. They also provide fee concession for defence, para-military CAPF personals and dependents.
Campus Life :
LPU is having great central library facilities with an international model of the library. In the library, there is a mac lab, and national and international journals, books you can find. All the classrooms and labs well equipped with smart classrooms.
Interview Experience :
LPU conducts LPUNEST exam for every student. After successfully pass that exam a tele-interview session will be conducted with a student and their parents. For LPUNEST we must prepare from your respective field materials, English course and current affairs questions, and GK.
