Entrance Preview :
Exam: CAT, Score: 90.33 Percentile. Why Opted for college: I was cynical in start and was adamant to choose a north India College. One of my friend asked me to go and see the campus (As my interview happened in Delhi, I didn't see the campus). I visited and Oh My God what a campus. In lap of beautiful Chamundi hills, it was no less than a heaven.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum is very good and up to date compared to other premier B Schools. All Activities have good weight. There are lot of Activities, Live projects, internships, presentation to develop an individual in all aspects. There are three trimesters in each year so we get to clear 6 exams in two years. Each exam will be assessed and reward you CGPA, which accumulated presents your final CGPA.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, College provided internships. We had a batch strength of 120 and 50-60 people got internship through college. Rest all manages on their own. Few of them received stipend that ranged 5000-25000 a month.
Placement Experience :
Placements are decent which ranged from 4.5 LPA to 15 LPA. Average package was 6 LPA. Companies which visited campus were mostly IT, FMCG, Manufacturing etc. Mostly Jobs offered in Finance and Marketing area. HR jobs are less placement happened for almost 100% students. Major Drawback here is visibility of college, as its located in Mysore which lacks infrastructure available in Bangalore.
College Events :
There were many but after 4 years recalling names is difficult but let me try Naissance: Biggest event, many other colleges are invited loads of activities, contests. Pratyaya: Many contests and events, CollegE Fest: Forgot the name but many dance music contests. Seems like I can recall the name for more events, but we had many events like best manager, singing, music, dance, all festivals were celebrated with full zeal.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee structure was feasible. I paid around 7-8 lakh for 2 year fee. Hostel were very good and economic, 150000 for 2 years including mess. All students need to compulsively stay in campus. There are no extra hidden charges. Fee covered for books also. Transportation in mysore is very good and cheap if you want to go out.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
It was a economic college, loan facility was available with all Major Banks. I dint avail any such facility so can't comment much on it.
Campus Life :
Campus life was awesome. As I said campus is no less than heaven on earth. This beauty lies in laps of Chamundi hills. There is so much green all around that it takes all pressure off you. We had students from 21 states of India ranging from North to South. From jammu to Kerala, Rajasthan to Bengal, Manipur. We dint have many sports facility but a small ground for Basket ball, Volley ball which was more used for cricket.
Alumni/Alumna :
We have a decent alumnus network in some sectors. But this is something that college need to improve upon.
Exam Structure :
We had 6 trimesters in two years. Grades were distributed out of 5 CGPA. Each trimesters consisted of many quizzes, projects, internships and of course final exams. Exams are very practical and focus is always to develop understanding. We had many open book/laptop exams that shows that we are tested on logic and approach and not for cramming abilities.
Admission :
First one needs to clear CAT exam as a prerequisite. Once you apply and you get CAT score and qualify for college cut off, you get interview call. Interview panel consists of faculty only, and there will be question on your background, past work experience and Academics. If you get through all this, welcome to Paradise called "SDMIMD".
Faculty :
That's the Best aspect, they all are so good. Each faculty is an institution in his own sense. Yes some if them were very very strict and to get good score in quizzes and exams is very difficult with them. But now i realize they made us ready for corporate life. All faculties are very good in their areas. There are very good guest faculties also, comprising IIMs and other senior corporate executives.
