Remarks :
In Jadavpur university there is both engineering department and arts department. And because of the arts department there college's reputation is hurt sometime. Also stay away from smoking and all those kinds.
Entrance Preview :
I had appeared for nearly all the exams conducted in India for reputed colleges. I appeared for IITJEE, BITSAT, WBJEE, COMEDK, VITEEE, SRMJEE. Without talking about other exams, I would say that in WBJEE I scored 115 out of 200 and got a rank of 1266 in the year 2016. I took this college because for all the exams I appeared, according to my potential, this was the best college for me.
Internships Opportunities :
In this time I may not tell you correctly but I have heard that for students whose family income is low may get some kind of scholarship.
Placement Experience :
Since Jadavpur university is well reputed for study therefore the placement is good here. Placement of computer science may be said top class because various companies provide world class packages. Average package in various branches is about 6-8lakhs per annum. Since I am in civil so I know that last year out of nearly 100 students 50-60 were placed or interned in good companies. Also students prefer to study for higher degree.
College Events :
From start firstly you would have fresher's party which is very enjoyable. These parties are organized by senior students in the college auditorium. Then there will an event called U-turn. This is an inter department event consisting of variour indoor and outdoor games /sports. We were champions in our time. The main event would be Sanskriti (fest). In this event various famous celebrity comes to our college.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
It might be quoted as a joke but take it seriously the fees of Jadavpur university for Faculty of engineering for all the four years is a total of ruppees 10 thousand. Seriously, 10K only. This is because it is state funded college. In today's scenario it is very cheap.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Sorry I don't think that there should be any loan facility for the students of Jadavpur as the fees is itself very low that is 10000 for all 4years in total.
Campus Life :
Gender ratio In Faculty of engineering it is very unsatisfactory. I would make you a rough estimate that for every 50 boys studying in any branch, there is only 1 girl reason for this is pure competition. CAMPUS LIFE, it' s fabulous. EXTRACURRICULAR we have various sports club like dance club, music club, MOUNTAINEERING club, photography club and other. All these clubs are in active condition we have a huge huge ground for cricket ,football, basketball If you have any passion which you were finding earlier you have this destination only.
Hostel Facilities :
I have taken a 3BHK Flat with my friends in the neighboring area. You would only get the official hostel if your parents income is very low, that is below 1 lakh per annum. So i was not eligible. I have estimated my monthly expense of near about 7000-8000 thousand.
Alumni/Alumna :
Senior students are helpful to you if you interact with them. Don't try to be over smart as they would teach you good lesson for that. Alumnus of Jadavpur are rocking the world.
Exam Structure :
There would be internals or what you say as class test in every 45 days(near about). In civil I have about 8 subjects for which there would be class tests . In labs and workshops, we would have viva which is very difficult accordant to me. In the end of semester there would be final exam. Any student failing to appear in these exam might get supple.
Admission :
For WBJEE the form would be filled online in the month of Jan or Feb. Then the exam would be conducted in the month of May. Hopefully it would be your last competitive exam. Then the result would be out after one month.
Faculty :
Our professor teach us truly and are qualified from Jadavpur or any other IIT's. Classes are conducted regularly. And lab class teachers are very strict. There is a simple rule that if you are interested then you teachers would also be privileged to make you study.
